  1. this time of year a trip to any lake that doesnt have ice on it but no seriously the amazon for peacocks
  2. it sucks well its pretty much just shallow ripples with a few eddies on the sides then under the bridge is just one big ripple no holes at all just go below and hell with that water its seriously bad
  3. the best bait for begginer smallie river anglers is dead sticking a 3 or 4 inch senko on the bottom just let it sit and the bass will nail it if u want to actually put action on a lure and still catch fish try using a topwater more specifficly the heddon topwater tiny torpedo use a pumpin action to get the bait to produce bubbles on the surface then let the bait sit intil the water settles down then pump it again make sure that when u pump the bait is actually going under the water and then popping back up to the surface many people do not know how to fish the torpedo but to get bites that is what u have to do
  4. yea i never fished now that far i fished right at the bridge before but never below there is some really nice water at the trussel right below it but there is always ppl fishing it so i never did good luck man do u have any fishing trips planned for april or march yet?

  11. i fish smaller likes around johnstown but im supposed to fish glendale in a tournament sometime this year with my uncle who fishes it alot i never had smallie, prespawn isnt great on wills if i was u i would just go down to the potomac i usally fish with spinners for trout but catch some bass til the spawn
  12. yea tubes and finess worms i like drop shotting alot too
  13. yea i remember 4 or 5 nice ones all from the same pocket yea i dont like parking at the pit and there are a few campsites down below alll the laydowns and all of that area is fished heavily maybe above the pit there is alot of structure but is mostly shallow and flat but might be good with the construction going on just up stream from that man dont worry i promise i will put us on some fish
  14. umm im not sure if the water is high at all and u still want to fish that will be are area but there is not alot of access there we probably will stick to cooks mills and fairhope idk know yet really what to do til i figure out what the fish are doing hell all the construction work in hydman might have me sticking to the campsites and fairhope more than downstream dont worry we are going to catch fish dont matter where we go
  15. yea that creek is no friend to baits but yea we will probably hit all the normal areas definety make a few trips down to cooks mills and probably fish around the train bridge and behind the shed in between the two bridges a yea im sure we will fish alot of fairhope since it is right there ok it should be a great time i cant wait i will keep u posted about anything in the early season like in april and may
  16. yea tubes should work im actually thinking that 3in beast should work too on 1/8ounce jigheads or some trig 5in senkos on 3/0 hooks maybe some shaky worms just buy the normal baits yum craws and that o yea get some flouro too its tough for the rocks and invisible to the spawning bass should be alot of fun yea we will go to the river too alot
  17. yo smallie im starting to really hate this forum well i dont know if u got my message bout fishn wills on the first weekend of june i will be down any weekend between april to june then off and on a memorials day weekend is prime time for fishing but there are alot of campers and fisherman on wills so i say the week after aaaa yea its not that far we can push back the date due to weather and if anyone else wants to join us on wills this summer just post please dont be afraid
  18. ok thanks guys ill give it a try on a day they should be hitting if they arent ill head somewhere else fast im not sure exaclty if they are changing th bottom contor of the creek or not but ill find out
  19. i seen that the tube style jighead now has a built in rattle but are more expensive than the tradition jighead being 18 and money is scarce i was wondering if anyone uses them and if they are worth the extra money to buy them
  20. i think this is the type your looking for http://jigfish.com/catalog.php?homeinclude=catalog&category_id=6&parent_id=6 im not 100% what u are looking for if u like them i think u can buy it online or there is a number here 877-390-FISH hope u find them and happy holidays
  21. the creek i fish alot is having new age riprap put in as a flood control in a near by town. there construction on it is to be continued the entire way up to next december. i know the foreman of the job and im sure he will allow me to fish where they are working, but i was wondering how the fish would react to the construction? there are bunch of large bulldozers and cranes in the water along with large levees to steer the creek that creats large pools of dead water. the creek has alot of current and the smallies usally dont migrate i was just wondering if it would be worth wild to fish it next summer
  22. i used them a few times not often i dont know why well the first time i used them about the 5th cast i hooked and landed a pretty nice one i catch some everytime i used them yea usally if they work a fluke works and vise versa
  23. i heard of largemouth in shallow natural lakes buring themselves into mud and keeping there body temp. to help them survive i barely have any largemouth in the creek i fish and i often wonder the same thing.
  24. o ok i was thinking about a fluke cause it would look natural i will try the rig and will try to use a bunch of different baits to find what works best
  25. i rarely use a lipless crank but when i do i usally use it when im fishing depth sensative or when the fish are suspended. i fish it around points alot but i also fish it in deeper grasses when i cant get softplastics to work i believe that the bass are suspender higher in the grass i like to slowly retreive the lipless crank so it is just ticking the grass its hard to do at first becuse you may get weeds alot but just keep working it it will click sooner or later
