  1. I'd just prefer you have the whole thing, I have no use for it at all anymore as I sold all my Bantam Curado's last spring. Never know, you may need something else from it another time and it will be there then. If you really don't want the whole thing I can pull whatever it is you need and send it. Just PM me and let me know.
  2. Thanks for posting that. I was unaware of this new requirement. Must be renewed every 3 years too!
  3. Been there, done that....it is definitely one of life's moments of pride and a big relief!. Congratulations to Mom, Dad and the Graduate on a job well done!
  4. I have one for parts you can have if you want it. It is missing the level-wind pawl and cap and I took something else off it too but don't remember what. Might have been the Anti-Reverse sleeve as I had one crack on one of my Castaics. Probably put the cracked one in this reel. Otherwise the rest of it is there. Anybody that wants it can have it. Just PM me.
  5. I use Sufix Siege in 6 or 8 lb test on my finesse casters.
  6. Ah...those have caught my eye too. Very nice!
  7. You're just wasting time. You know it's going to happen....
  8. Those were as popular as the Mitchell 300! You either had one or wanted one as a kid. I never had one, mine were ABU Garcia instead
  9. Other notables would be the XML's and Fish Eagle 50's....also on sale. The Fish Eagle 50's are a LOT of rod for the money!
  10. It's not a direct fit in the Fuego but I guess if you have the spacers you can do it. The R+ inductor lends itself more towards a very experienced thumb. It will be more finicky but the potential for greater distance from lighter lures is there. I have 103H, 105H and 1016 spools that I use in my TD-Z's and I can't tell any difference between the 103H and 105H spools in actual use. The 105H may be a low(er) capacity spool but it holds a LOT of 6 lb line!
  11. Handles can be replaced fairly cheap by any good rod builder. I take my repairs to Thorne Bros. They do quality work fast and cheap!!
  12. Absolute killer bargain at $69! I like the one I have so much I'm going to get more too! I have always preferred traditional cork handles but I really like the Winn grip handles on these rods.
  13. Mike, No orange seals. Lightning 5's were the ones that were inconsistent. I intend to talk to somebody there next time I order, and make sure they either don't sell me any lemons or will exchange them if they do. The ones I've had that work right have been great, and I see no reason to buy OS7's.
  14. I am going to try some Hawg Tech bearings next. I've had decent luck with Boca Lightnings (ABEC 5 hybrids) too. But....I've experienced some inconsistency with them, so I'm going to try Hawg Tech and see how they work in one of my TD-Z's.
  15. I won't get into details because I'm certain I'd be the only one to add this reel here but with some changes I'd like to see the Team Daiwa HSTA again. Get it on a diet and lose an ounce or so, slightly smaller frame and spool plus optional shallow spool and I'd be all over it. This is the one that fits my hand best
  16. This would be one that I would pick also, to include the Fuego too! I would like to see it with aluminum frame and 90mm handle with gear options from 5:1 to 8:1. For all around use I prefer the 1016 spools in these reels. Maybe a new color too.
  17. What is your favorite discontinued reel? Suppose you could bring it back from obscurity, what improvements or changes do you make to it before it hits the market? I guess you can pick however many you'd like, doesn't have to be just one....just for the sake of conversation.
  18. If it was an ounce or 2 lighter, I don't think you'd get one for $150 and especially $92.
  19. Berkley Trilene XT and Suffix Siege are pretty good. They are the only ones I use. I mostly stick to XT because it's cheaper and has served me well for many years. Not saying it is "most abrasion resistant" but it's d**n good in my opinion and I like the cost.
  20. I'm gettin' more of these over the winter. One or 2 coming next weekend!
  21. I think so, That was a $200 reel new if I recall. I had gen 1 SX's and they were great performers for me. My son has a gen 1 STX and never had a problem with it yet. $60 is a good deal as long as there are no mechanical issues.
  22. Why the heck would you do that? So many choices/options, must be something good you can get your hands on to be sure it's what you want.
  23. Sale price was gone today anyway so I never stopped in. I'll just have to wait until next time it's on sale. It's not a big deal for me, we are frozen solid until April.
