  1. HA! I just looked on my peg board in my basement shop and lo and behold there is a unopened pack of Strike King Pork-O Lightnin' Strike Hooks. I knew they were familiar. I have a bunch of jars of Strike King Bo Hawg Frogs, they were my favorite "pig" for my jigs back then, especially the Olive green.
  2. Whats the difference? St. Croix says they are both SCII blanks. We've all heard the bit about the Triumph being assembled in China, or wherever. The guides may be different? Some have said the quality of the Triumph sucks....I couldn't tell much difference when comparing them. Premier offers more models to choose from. Triumph Premium-quality SCII graphite. Outstanding strength, sensitivity and hook setting power. Finely tuned actions and tapers for superior performance. Hard aluminum-oxide guides with black frames. Fuji® DPS reel seat/frosted silver hoods on spinning models. Premium-grade cork handle. Two coats of Flex Coat slow-cure finish. 5-year warranty backed by unmatched St. Croix service. 3. Nope, it's fine. I prefer MH/F.
  4. I haven't seen these things anywhere for a long time. They work great on a Slider head too. They are (or were) a smaller diameter solid body tube type bait.
  5. Who made the Pork-O? Strike King? I remember the name but not who made it.
  6. I've done really well with Baby 1- over the years. I like 'em!!
  7. Greatest Bass Angler goes to Rick Clunn (although Denny Brauer is my favorite) but if the question is Greatest Angler.... then, like RW, I pick Al Lindner. His versatility is staggering. I come from a part of the country where trophy hunters are hardly even recognized. It's good somebody stands up for their craft.
  8. I agree with that. Spin the hype to fever pitch and then limit production to claim a sell out and the fever rises some more. Ah...it's just marketing. I really would like to see a Curado that weighs 8 oz and sells for $150 though. I like Shimano but they need to make some changes before I will buy any new Curado's again. (I'll buy Castaic's though!) I'm looking forward to what they do here.
  9. It's a little different for us up here in the north. We don't have submerged bridges, creek and river channels, or road beds in our natural lakes. On top of that, the topo maps are generally not real accurate. You better be real good at reading your "locator" to find some of the best spots on these lakes. If you don't have one, playing in the "twilight zone" is pretty much out of the question.
  10. That look says "please spread the rumor, we need the hype!"

Fish the 7.5" with complete confidence, especially go with 7.5" in stained/dirty water, profile is king there. You'll catch bass from small to large with them. Original Culprit, and any ribbontail worm, has a lot of "tail".
  12. I didn't know Larew made this color. I started using this color last year from Producto and it was HOT HOT HOT!! I went through almost 200 of them in a couple months of weekend trips I'll check Larew's site again but I'm kinda stuck on Producto's stuff. 75% of my craws are Producto, but the other 25% are Larew.
  13. Geez....I miss everything! I have NO idea whats going on.....not that it matters I guess.
  14. I have an old Berkley Pulse 6' MH that I still love to use. It is my favorite for fishing worms (t-rig).
  15. I never even caught a d**n "gator" on mine. After at least 500 empty casts/retrieves with that bait I never got past feeling stupid for throwing it.
  16. : I've never seen mono groove a guide before???
  17. Cabela's Prodigy is $100 and very worthy of consideration if you have the budget for it. It might be more than you want to spend though
  18. 1/2 oz GMAN Poison Tail jig w/Producto craw. Favorite and most productive one and same. 7" Powerworms are very close 2nd.

HA!! I missed my share last time, I need to work on that. I missed 3 out of 25 and had some weak breaks I wasn't happy about. Nowhere to go but up!! I was using some new shells and they seemed to toss a hollow core in the pattern.... When I go perfect I'll let ya'll know

Thanks GMAN. I looked and there are 2 on there. 1 NIB for $659 and 1 used for $649. Both are more than I paid new with tax. I don't think I'll do any better on price for this thing. Now I just need to get it home and break it in on some clays.

Checked several local gun dealers. This is the Premier Realwood model, not a Sportsman. I should have been clear about that from the start. I don't want synthetic. The Sportsman can be had much cheaper but $380 is a pretty good deal for a Camo Sportsman I guess. Nobody else had the Premier in 20 ga and told me they couldn't get it. Just about everybody had it in 12 but I wanted 20.

How old are you anyway? You sound like you are from my era. Unfortunately those days are forever gone. You can get a new 870 Express for about $300+/- if your lucky and an Express really ain't anything special. A new 870 Wingmaster might be had for $550- $600 if you shop it out. Auto's have gotten spendy, $600 for a decent Remington auto is a fair deal.. Most used ones are going for more than I paid for this one. (yes, bought it tonight) This one will be for my youngest son when he comes of age to handle his first full size shotgun.

Checked those out Burley, nothing jumped out but thanks very much. It's probably a good deal at $599 and I should go snap it up. I think the MSRP is about $850 or so.

I'm looking for best price on a Remington 11-87 20 ga auto. Best I've found so far is $599 at local Gander on "blowout". Anybody have suggestions for places I might check out??
