Make sure your hooks are sharp.When you are fighting the fish watch your line and feel the fish,you can tell wich way he wants to go,allways continue to stay with the fish,if he jumps do not let the slack at all or he will be gone.I lost a solid 8lb bass this week end looking back for the net instead of watching my fish,he jumped and was gone,that was my fault good hookset but slack line,he came up and said, bye bye bone head.Keep your line tight and have fun.Bob

I caught a 10lb catfish on a wave worm hooked waky style and swiming it.Broke my pole in three pices had to grab the line but got the fish talk about a lot of fun.

Sounds like you have learnd a lot as a non boater,When the time comes for you to fish as a boater you will understand what your non boater is going through,and how to make his day with you a little less stressful.I dont think I could go 2 years as a non boater if I ownd my own boat, to much stress for me.

I did the same thing but I left the middle seat in and turnd it into a live well.Works great.

bubbler you said he isnt realy into it, Dont try to force it take him out and go fishing.Explain why your doing somthing and show him how to do the same,let him know why you casted to a spacific spot and not to another.Let him use your favorite lure,show him how you use it and let him learn.We all learn by our mistakes let him make them and encourage him as you go.he will learn in his own time.Have fun with it and good luck.I taught my wife 3 kids and my best friend this way and they are all verry good anglers.

I use a 1/0or 2/0 offset red worm hook works fine for me, and if you want to switch to a worm you can.

When we lived in Fl. we used to watch them from the back yard also was fun.

Anyone know how to replace the drag nut on my shakespeare modle 35 spinning reel,I emaild shakespeare atleast 6 times and got no response axcept I was scolded for emailing them to many times,and didnt even get any help then,I dont get it.I droped the dragnut in the lake and now cant use the reel. >:(Thanx for any help Bob.

On mem. day my wife and I went out,was out about an hour or so a boat came over to where we were being rude throughing in front of my boat banging the trolling motor,just rude.We moved around a point and she threw her wave worm over a branch,while trying to get the wormfreed it began swiming toward us,I told her to set the hook, she did but wraped the line around the reel,after a few intense moments we freed her from the reel and the limb,the fish was 5.2 lbs 20" long but thin.What a great day.<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/bassbob07/memorialday20075lbs.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>
