What'd ya'll do this weekend? I witnessed a small scale riot.
really?!?! what'd they say? people that were there were calling in talking about what went on and saying how they thought the police kind of instigated it. they were also talking about how awful tear gas is.

Bass with Black Splotches
yeah this is something different, "black spot disease". most of the golden shiners in my creek have it. the black spots are very numerous, and all the size of a pin head. this is a golden shiner i got from the creek and had in my aquarium. terrible pic but you can see the spots on it. the condition in question is melanosis. the last 5lb10oz fish i caught had it. its all over fish in the potomac. not sure why though.

For those who fish ultralight....
It's possible, but IMO would be too much weight. 3" is as big as I would go. i catch little bass <10" from a pond at school on a 5" wacky rigged senko using my UL and a 2/0 hook. i've also caught then on t-rigged baby brush hogs on the same setup. but its hard fishing soft plastics with the UL because the backbone isn't there to set the hook. you always have to tex-pose at the least. wacky worming is pretty easy though. UL's really excel for fishing small crankbaits/topwater (treble hook baits) and inline spinners if you ask me. also fishing little jigs suspended under a bobber for bluegills. that rebel crickhopper popper is a great bait!!

- Threadfin Shad Question
yeah like big m said, no real right way to paint anything. if i were painting it, based off that picture, i'd paint the whole thing white, then the whole thing in pearl white, then pearl silver through netting over the back and shoulders, very light pearl copper lateral stripe, then paint black gills, black spot, and really light black over the back.- The REAL banjo minnow- More details added
thats pretty cool lookin!- Have Adult ADHD?

using doubled over masking tape to hold the stencil over the bait is a pretty neat trick, good one Rob- What have you purchased recently????? 2010
my latest purchase:- Opinions Please...
you talking about the "window" stencil as he called it? yeah thats what i used for this, but i used way too thin of plastic (i used a protective sheet cover, the kind you buy in 100 packs from Staples). the plastic is thinner than a sheet of paper, so i couldn't hold the stencil out from the bait because the air from the airbrush just pushed on the stencil and skewed the cutout. i had to put the stencil right on the bait for the lines to stay aligned. i'm going to re-do the stencil with some sturdier plastic and see how it works out.- Opinions Please...
i cut a squiggly line in a very thin piece of plastic and then just separated it a little bit so it was a crack and taped it together in this position. i put it against the bait and sprayed. next time i'm using sturdier plastic so i can hold it off the bait a little bit so the stripes don't have such hard edges. i hate hard edges (except on gills).- Re: why fishing regulations cannot work and should be removed
here in maryland we can target bass all year long, just can't keep any from March 1 to June 15.- Opinions Please...
please give me your honest opinions on the stripes on this bait. everything is how i want it on this bait except the stripes. i don't like how clean stenciled they look, but i'm unable to spray them that fine freehand without my paint running all over the bait. so, opinions please, or suggestions on how to improve painting irregular, parallel stripes. thanks guys- Hook Sharpener
I can do that, but what do you guys do with baits that don't have an o-ring holding the hook to the bait. Specifically crank baits and topwater baits. Do you just add an o-ring to the bait? are you talking about like on heddons and other classic lures? cut off the stock trebles (they're usually junk anyway), put on some split rings (thats what they're called, O-rings are plastic or rubber gaskets) and put on some quality treble hooks. on jigs and spinnerbaits where the hook is attached to the bait, i use a dremel with an aluminum oxide grinding bit to touch up the hook. - Threadfin Shad Question
