looks good. did you close off the open end of the shell with metal or is it just against the wood on the inside?- Pegging Tungsten Weights
cool. im going to start pegging them, can't hurt as far as saving the weight goes. i always use braid, and it seems like it typically breaks at the knot, but i don't really know for sure.- Maryland- Liberty Res. Loch Raven Res. Patapsco River
i'm going to UMBC in the fall and it looks like these are the three major fisheries nearby. any tips on fishing them?- Pegging Tungsten Weights
do you think pegging a tungsten weight with a toothpick would increase the chance of recovering the weight after a break-off? would this diminish the sensitivity of tungsten at all?- High School Sucks!
i hate ap calc! i'm pretty lost in that class. so lost i don't really know enough to ask any questions... but i have a 75 in there now and i'm really happy with it. i'm probably going to end up taking it again in college because of my major, so i'm kind of focusing on getting a good grade any way i can right now, and hoping it will make sense the second time around. my teacher also gives us really bad notes. she doesn't explain them well, and her version of "notes" is her blasting through 2 or 3 problems on the board. and i do mean blasting, she does them her normal pace and doesn't even give us time copy all the work so we can follow it later. i wish i took cm calc instead of ap.- Smallmouth Take 2
definitely will.- Smallmouth Take 2
thanks and you're welcome! what have you been using for scales? im always looking for different scale patterns.- Smallmouth Take 2
bait nets have much larger holes. here is a bait where i used a bait net for the larger background scales and an aquarium net for the finer detail scales: the bait net i used there was one of the 5 dollar ones in the fishing section of walmart, the net is about 10 inches across. they also have little 1 dollar baitwell dip nets which have rectangular holes which i don't like at all. the holes are still as big as the ones on the 5 dollar bait nets.- Smallmouth Take 2
no problem. they're cheap too! like a dollar or two at walmart. i cut the netting out of mine and plan on throwing it in the washing machine when there is too much paint crusted up on it.- Maryland's Who's who!
fishing's hot down here in st. mary's county! 4 and 5" ring worms are doing great, i was getting bit twitching a floating rapala along the shoreline, all my fish are coming from 4 feet of water or less.- Smallmouth Take 2
aquarium net:- Sebile Soft Magic Swimmers
i bet they only last one fish...- berkley scale
yeah my post above applies to both berkley scales i've owned, the 50lb hook scale from walmart, and the 30lb digital lip grip.- berkley scale
same here. perhaps your lifting weights are off? i have some old freeweights that i tested my scale on and they were horribly off. so i tried some of those 2lb aerobics dumbbells where its just one solid weight, and it weighed them within an ounce. i also weighed a 5lb bag of sugar (which is packaged by weight at the factory, so you know the printed weight is the weight of the product) and my scale weighed it within an ounce too.- Smallmouth Take 2
lol! thanks guys.- Smallmouth Take 2
a while ago i painted up a smallmouth off the top of my head, and i made it real bronze. my friend said he didn't like that and said the smallmouths where he lives are more green, and he showed me a reference picture of what they look like. so when his bait arrived i repainted it using the picture as a guideline. i think it turned out okay. he likes it better than the factory paintjob and thats what matters- poured and injected some baits
nice lizards.- Just a couple repaint's..
i like #1- Need an Airbrush
tcp global is a very reliable seller. go for it.- upside down beetle spin rattle
well thats just crappy design! you could try smashing some lead solder or airgun pellets so they're nice and flat and epoxying them to the bottom of the jighead for some ballast. i don't even see the point of having a rattling head on a beetle spin, they don't wobble so it wouldn't rattle much...- How to change a crankbait's action without changing the shape
i could never get my pvc very smooth when i sanded it....- Need an Airbrush
www.chicagoairbrushsupply.com has great customer service. i didn't buy my brush from them (i bought from www.coastairbrush.com) but when i dropped my brush and smashed the tip all up, i called up chicago and they helped me out with figuring out which replacement parts i needed to buy (since the item numbers of the replacement parts were wrong in the manual i received). they have great customer service, so i'm going to keep buying my airbrush supplies from them.- Need an Airbrush
i'd go with the iwata, no question. iwata is a very reliable brand, they make a good quality airbrush, and they have a good warranty policy. you won't have to replace your iwata brush unless you break it, it won't break on you. plus you can always buy different sized needles and nozzles if you so desire, but the .3mm that comes standard in the revolution is a pretty good all around tip.- How to change a crankbait's action without changing the shape
nice job man. looks good! what type of pvc are you using, is it just the trim board you get at lowes/home depot? - .44 mag rattle chamber
