Jigs in warm water
I was watching O'Neill Outside yesterday morning and he said that a jig is only good in cool water and once the water gets above 70 degrees (I believe that's the temperature he said) he switches to a plastic worm. Do you folks who fish a jig find that to be the case. Even though I have been bass fishing for 45 years, I have never used a jig much.

Best flipping stick around $100
I recently bought a BPS Bionic Blade flipping stick that I really like. I looked at a number of more expensive ones but couldn't justify paying a premium when this one does what I want.

I'm going to give fluorocarbon a little more time before I go back to mono. I bought some KVD line conditioner yesterday and tried it on the fluorocarbon (BPS Excel) today. I couldn't tell that it helped any. I am going to try spraying it on the night before next time. I used Power Pro braid for casting crankbaits for the first time today. Our water is typically pretty stained or muddy, so visibility isn't a problem. I caught a couple of bass on a deep running crankbait and was pretty well satisfied with how it performed.- Suspender type II & V PFDs
I talked to a game warden a few months ago about it and he said that, if you don't want to wear it all the time, just carry a regular life vest in the boat that will qualify.- Favorite Beer...
Oh, that's good stuff. I had a beer the other night called Hatuey. It was originally a Cuban beer but is now being brewed by Bacardi. It's really sweet with almost no hop taste.- Frog rod for under 100 dollars?
I am using a BPS Bionic Blade 7'6" MH flipping stick. I like it a lot.- What's your favorite search bait?
My favorite is a white 1/2 oz willowleaf spinnerbait. My most effective one is an Aruku Shad. I have one tied on a rod constantly.- lets see your baby! (instruments)
My old Sigma DR7. It's was made in Japan for Martin: It isn't much, but it plays better than I do.- Lowe Or Tracker?
Wasn't the ignition switch part of the control unit made by the engine manufacturer?- Lowe Or Tracker?
I have an '84 Bass Tracker and would buy another if I could get the blessing of SWMBO.- Earl Hagan Passes Away
Well, now, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole, We may not get a bite all day, but don't you rush away. What a great place to rest your bones and mighty fine for skippin' stones, You'll feel fresh as a lemonade, a-settin' in the shade. Whether it's hot, whether it's cool, oh what a spot for whistlin' like a fool. What a fine day to take a stroll and wander by The Fishin' Hole, I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day. We'll have no need to call the roll when we get to The Fishin' Hole, There'll be you, me, and Old Dog Trey, to doodle time away. If we don't hook a perch or bass, we'll cool our toes in dewy grass, Or else pull up a weed to chaw, and maybe set and jaw. Hangin' around, takin' our ease, watchin' that hound a-scratchin' at his fleas. Come on, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole, I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day. Music by Earle Hagen & Herbert W. Spencer Words by Everett Sloane- Mercury Two Strokes
The Evinrude ads have me scared that a four stroke will need a lot of service that only the dealer can provide. Is that true?- Float tubes in FL
My buddy, Stumpy, uses one all the time. ;D- GO Helio!!
That's open wheel racing for you.- Video of Briggs and Stratton 5 hp on water pushing 14 ft jon boat
Have you been catching anything out of Taylorsville? Dad and I used to fish it when it was first impounded.- LIFE IS GOOD and GOT BETTER!!!!
Eat well while you are home. You look too thin.- Favorite Beer...
For a number of years I avoided the big name American beers because I kept reading comments like yours and didn't want to be perceived as having no taste. I was recently served a Budweiser and really liked it. I have decided to drink what I like and not worry about what anyone else thinks.- Who am I talking to? (post a picture of yourself.)
I'm not holding a bass, but my grand daughter sure is a keeper:- Rewards for traveling
I have to travel a bit with my job and stay at Holiday Inn Express from time to time. I signed up to get reward points through their Priority Club. I received an E-mail from them advising me that I can now redeem my points for gift cards from several retailers including Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's. Oh, baby! I'm volunteering for every out of town trip now.- Favorite Beer...
I have never acquired a taste for IPAs. To me, any beer in which the overwhelming flavor is from hops misses the point of beer. Having said that, I am a big fan of Newcastle. I recently bought a pack of Michelob Porter which I thought was surprisingly good.- On board battery charger
You don't have to install it on the boat, but why not? I put a Dual Pro on my old Bass Tracker last year and absolutely love the fact that it makes battery charging a no brainer any more. I leave mine plugged in 24/7 and can't see any difference in my electric bill.- Kyle Busch
Bite your tongue lad......no one could ever be compared to "Big E" Ah, but the lad speaks the truth. Everyone is quick to give young master Busch a tongue lashing for his driving but thought it was just fine when ol' #3 did it. It's almost like saying you're opposed to motherhood and apple pie to badmouth Earnhardt, but I never did think his style of driving was good for the sport. Good for the box office, but not good for racing.- Short and Fat
I saw the subject line and was just sure you were going to show a picture of me. That is one fine looking fish.- 1st day out impressions, boat control was a pain but went ok :)
I remember back when folks started putting trolling motors on the bow rather than the stern. The thinking was that it was "easier to pull a rope than to push one." You should be able to reverse the head on your current trolling motor and use it on the bow. It will make a world of difference. - Trilene 100% fluorocarbon
