He's from North Florida. That's just the kind of stuff good ol' Crackers do down here.

How many of you can answer these?
Yeah, but what was his horse's name? What was Roy Rogers' horse's name and his dog's name? Dale Evans' horse? Robert E. Lee's horse?

Spinnerbait storage?
I use a Browning spinnerbait wallet from BPS: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_74099_100011010_100000000_100011000_100-11-10 I have gone through 3 or 4 hard boxes and have found this to be the best, most compact way to store spinnerbaits. For buzzboaits, though, I don't thing you can beat the Falcom buzzbait wallet.

Towing - HP vs. torque
I really don't need the 4X4. I think that the 4X4 requires the six cylinder.

Towing - HP vs. torque
I do not have an engineering mind so I thought you guys might help me out with some understanding of horsepower and torque. In about six months I am going to get a new truck. It will be a Ford Ranger. I am currently driving a 1999 Mazda pickup with a four cylinder engine. I tow a 17 foot Bass Tracker and the four cylinder truck does OK except that it is awfully lethargic getting up to speed when getting on the interstate. The Ranger comes with a four cylinder which makes 143 HP and 154 foot pounds of torque. The 3.0 liter 6 has only 5 more hp, but 180 foot pounds of touque. Is that increase in torque going to help me get on the interstate quicker? I don't want to go to the 4.0 liter 6 cylinder if I can avoid it.

ok, I'm officially "old" lol
I love those custom built, regularly spaced moguls. You want to feel old? Wait until you go to confession to a priest that is younger than your children.

LUNKERVILLE featuring BR's own Low Budget Hooker NOW PLAYING!
That is what fishing is, or should be, all about. I love it.

Lucked Out Today
And here I was feeling really good about the $55 Falcon Low Rider I got at Sportsman's Warehouse yesterday. I love Falcon rods.

morning fishing
I hook up the boat the night before and have everything ready so that I just have to pull the cover off the boat, load the rods, cooler and tackle bag, grab a bagel and coffee and hit the road. I don't shave on the mornings that I am going fishing. That way SWMBO is relatively confident that I am not actually out tomcatting. I am on the lake a bit before daylight, but my home lake is so stumpy that I am afraid to run the big motor until after daylight. I love being on the water at daylight, but I will admit that I really don't catch all that many fish early.

Painting a golf cart
I will be waiting until after the press conference this Friday when he announces he is going with Stewart and who his sponsor is. I hope it is not UPS, that will be a boring paint scheme for a golf cart I read this morning that he will be driving the Number 4 car. They are still working on sponsorship deals.

Hey I adopted a dog from the Pound today
No need to name a dog like that. He can't come when you call him anyway.

Anyone Excited about NASCAR?
Not me, but that might be because Edwards came in 9th at the Glen. ;D Doh!!! I sat here and typed Watkins Glen all the time thinking Pocono. Getting old really sucks.

Anyone Excited about NASCAR?
NASCAR needs to get back to its roots: STOCK car racing. The cars need to be production models that have added safety measures. What we have now is a bastardized version of IROC. I miss the old "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" mentality that was good for the American car industry. Who is going to go out and buy a Ford Fusion based on Carl Edwards' win at Watkins Glen?

Question about purchasing a used boat?
Did you call on the 12 foot Topper today?

Everything is right in the universe...again
Now, don't be hating on Avid's sunglasses. Those things are required for all Florida retirees.

BASS weigh-in host
Bear with me folks. I can't fish this weekend and I am feeling a little cranky. Does anyone besides me want to stuff a tournament shirt in the mouth of that dweeb that hosts the BASS weigh-ins? I just want to shake him and explain to him, and BASS, that people come to see the fishermen and their fish, not listen to some goofy guy try to create some false sense of anticipation. They have turned the weigh-ins into something akin to "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"

strike king series 6/5 crankbaits
I've read a lot of reviews that complain of the baits filling with water. Anyone seem to have that problem?

Game Wardens...
I have been in Florida 19 years and have only been approached by a game warden (locally known as the mullet police) twice. Both times were this year and by two different wardens. Both were polite, respectful and helpful. Here's a good idea I picked up on BR: Program your local game warden's telephone number into your cell phone so you can report game violations.

Gary Yamamoto a Cattle Farmer?
After all these years of living in Florida I still get tickled at Floridians talking about their ranches. I was always under the impression that a ranch implied the use of open range for grazing.
