I fished a tournament earlier this year with a guy who screamed the F-bomb every time he missed a fish, which was quite often. It made for a miserable day listening to that juvenile ranting.

Lindner still makes his living fishing. I'd call him a pro.

As much as it pains this Southern boy to admit it, I have to agree with the folks who chose Al Lindner. He seems to take a more scientific approach to fishing for all species than anyone else. He is also an excellent teacher.

Several years ago Lance Armstrong rode a Litespeed titanium bike in the mountain stages of the Tour de France. The bike had been painted with Trek colors and logo since Trek sponsored Lance's team. At a tennis tournament years ago I sat next to John Lloyd while he removed the stripes from a pair of Adidas tennis shoes. They didn't sponsor him and he didn't want to give them free advertising. I have a Silver Buddy that Billy Westmoreland gave me. He told me that he caught most of his smallmouth on that bait, but the company was too small to sponsor him so he didn't use it on the show.

One of the guys I am talking about, Rob Lawhon, is constantly being falsely accused of cheating. He is just an extremely good fisherman on Lake Talquin.

It's a little hard to follow your post without capitalization and punctuation, but here goes: I'm not talking about the BASS Elite tournaments. As good as KVD is, he is not the prohibitive favorite at any tournament. Lake Talquin is a lake that requires a detailed knowledge of the lake that only the few who can fish it several times a week have.

Do you find that participation in local open bass tournaments is hurt because there are a few guys that ALWAYS win? Here on Lake Talquin there are a few guys who live on the lake and can fish several times a week or they guide on the lake. They enter every open tournament on the lake and usually take home the top checks. I don't begrudge them their success. They have earned it, but it seems that folks are reluctant to pay $100 or more per boat to fish for, at best, third place money.

The tide will go from a high of 1.7 to a low of 0.6 feet.

I'm going to be fishing a club tournament this weekend on the lower Apalachicola River. High tide will be at around 6:15 a.m. with low tide around 12:30. I don't have much experience fishing tidal rivers, but I understand that slack tide times make for tough fishing. Anyone have any thoughts on how to approach that time when the water isn't moving?

Our bass club is fishing a tournament on the Apalachicola River out of Bay City this weekend. We have about as much chance of catching a good redfish as we do bass in these waters. I can't wait.

I sure like my 25 year old Bass Tracker. Never had a minute's trouble with it that wasn't my fault.

Daniel got to come home from the hospital yesterday. It was a bit of a shock to see how pale, drawn, and weak he was. The recovery begins now and I look forward to having my little buddy back to full speed soon.

I fished out of one earlier this year and found it to be no more stable than a regular Bass Tracker. You have a lot more freeboard with the V18, but it is still a lightweight, aluminum boat and it gets blown around a lot in the wind. Rick Clunn used one in a tournament earlier this year, so I guess it must not be too bad. It is a noticeably smoother ride in rough water than my Tracker.

My 3 year old grandson is in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery. Last night, in a very quiet moment, my daughter whispered to him, "I love you Daniel." To which Daniel replied. "I love Fruit Loops." I guess Beth knows where she stands in the pecking order. ;D

About two years ago I inherited my late father's 1984 Bass Tracker. Since then that "free" boat has cost me $3900 for a new motor, $600 for a new trolling motor, $800 in new depth finders, $100 for a new pedestal and seat, etc.

Anybody know why Rick Morris was zeroed out at Oneida on Saturday? He made some cryptic remark after weighing in about a couple of other fishermen who "knew what happened out there."
