  1. I seem to spend most of my frog fishing time picking backlashes out. I put some 20# Sufix braid on a spinning reel and mounted it on a 7' medium heavy Falcon Original spinning rod. I am anxious to see if I can handle a fish in the lily pads with this outfit. Does anyone else frog fish with a spinning outfit?
  2. I started using one last year and find that I have a lot more boat control when using it.
  3. Makes you wonder what they could do with a Thomas Kincaide painting.
  4. It must be good, Captain B.J. Hunnicutt went there.
  5. Not according to their web site which I would assume has been looked over before posting by their attorneys. The way I read it was they pay the sales tax, you don't. http://www.boatersworld.com/help/shopping/Shopping.htm?bct=sWhy+Shop+Here+BW#anchor3 Would a law abiding person knowing that a company has done a legal wrong, even after the fact, still want to be part of their illegal misdealing? I'm not sure if aid and abetting would apply (one is just as guilty as the principal, before or after the fact)? I know one is an online purchase and the other an instore purchase, but both under the umbrella of the main company. If I felt that strong I would have returned the merchandise or at least donated it to a church or worthy organization to clear my conscience of any act of wrongdoing that I unknowingly was part of. In my eyes this would turn a negative act into a positive one. I paid sales tax on items purchased from their brick and mortar store. I assume that they will remit those sales taxes to the state. The disclaimer you quoted does not mention Florida. The disclaimer indicates that they are only submitting sales tax collections to California, Kansas, and Maryland. Any online retailer that has a store within Florida must pay sales tax on items shipped into the state.
  6. Buying from a store that is giving a nice deals, then turn around and backstab. There may be some extenuating circumstances. Bad karma ! There a stores that I don't care for, deal or not I just don't go in. Sorry to them go I liked their shoe department. What part of the law do you not understand? If they ship an item to Florida and they have a store in Florida they are supposed to pay sales tax.
  7. I have been bass fishing since I was 15, but it has become my main recreational focus over the last 18 months, especially since I joined a bass club and acquired my father's old Bass Tracker. I still do a bit of bicycling and wooddorking when I can make time between work on the house, playing with my grandchildren, and entertaining SWMBO.
  8. Did you notice that when you step up from the 90 to the 115 you only gain a couple more mph top end?
  9. I have like Kasey ever since his rookie season when he refused to be bullied by Tony Stewart. If he drove what passes for a Ford in NASCAR he would be my favorite. As it is, I root for Carl Edwards most of the time.
  10. I have loaded up on a lot of stuff at the store here in Tallahassee also. I can't really say that I am sorry to see them go. I have never dealt with such a sorry retailer in all my life. I have been receiving E-mails from their online store advertising 10% off on a number of items, no sales tax, and free shipping. The prices are not 10% off of the MSRP and I don't think Boater's World ever sold them for more than the MSRP. They are not charging sales tax on items shipped to Florida even though they still have at least one store operating in Florida. I filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Revenue.
  11. The "f" word is not a profane word for excrement. It was the "s" word.
  12. What is the Air Force equivilant of Hooah! God bless you.
  13. Maxximus, Try typing that post again after you've had a cup of coffee. . . or two.
  14. I prefer my American Rodsmiths David Fritts rod for deep cranking. I could see any substantial difference between the two.
  15. My post was edited and I came off looking like an idiot. He did not say "holy crap." He said "holy ****." No telling what BR's automated editing program will change that to.
  16. Sometimes I wonder what pro fishermen are thinking. Here they are with a whole lot of their income being based on sponsorships and so many of them have no idea how to behave in a manner that reflects positively on their sponsors. I was at a local sporting goods store this weekend where Capt. Rick Murphy, a popular saltwater guide and TV host, was doing a personal appearance on behalf of Shimano. A group of people including several small children were standing around listening as he related a story about helping a guy et a hook out of his son's lip. At one point in the story he used the expression "holy (profane word for excrement, not "crap")". Maybe I am just old fashioned, but I would have called him on it if those had been my children.
  17. Chocolate is for girls.
  18. Don't go givin' Senko77 a hard time about his man card. I've seen a picture of him with his prom date.
  19. Unless I am mistaken, the maps in the NVB version are from the 2006 cards. He's right. It is not a very good deal.
  20. If you aren't used to operating a boat, get aluminum. It is more forgiving. You will make some mistakes until you get some experience. DAMHIKT If you want to spend your time fishing rather than polishing, get aluminum. If you would rather spend that $5,000 difference on better electronics and tackle, get aluminum. If you want to save gas running the boat and towing it to the ramp, get aluminum. If you don't mind a little spray if your face once in a while, get aluminum. I fish out of an old Bass Tracker and, if it was the only boat I could ever have, I would not feel mistreated. That being said, I still want a glass boat. Bass Cats, Triton, and Rangers haunt my dreams. (I remember when it used to be women.)
  21. I am afraid the new HDS units are a bit of a pig in a poke that may just morph into a marketing disaster like New Coke. I am hearing a lot of complaints from folks who have them. I also wonder why Lowrance released them without them being able to accept Navionics cards. They have pushed back the date for the update a couple of times now. I just bought a new Humminbird 788ci and could not be happier with it.
  22. I was home sick yesterday and watched an episode of Roland Martin's show. He had Bill Dance and Johnny Morris fishing for redfish. Martin was playing a fish and Dance was standing behind him grabbing his butt with the Boga Grips. I would be surprised if you could still find the book.
  23. You seem to be doing a pretty good job of it with your original post. If I am not mistaken, David Lee Hayes caught the world record smallmouth trolling a 301 Bomber.
  24. Go back and read it again. Martens didn't stir up the local guy's hole. The local guy stirred it up so Martens couldn't fish it.
