Low-flow toilets
I bet that's tough on your septic tank.

I messed up
Last year I worked at a "Senior Fair" put on by our local senior center. The local Alzheimer's support group forgot about about it and didn't show up. We gave them a pretty hard time about.

Bus or Bicycle?
I have to ride my bike three miles to get to the closest bus stop.

Burley's Random Photo of the Day - eastern NC edition
Just looking at a row of tobacco gives me nightmares remembering riding that setter, topping, cutting, and stripping burley tobacco. I'm so glad we starved off that farm.

Low-flow toilets
I installed a pressurized toilet a few years ago. It only takes one flush now and you better not be sitting on it when you flush. The suction will take you down with it.

Manny Ramirez suspended
I thought the same thing when I first heard the line about a "personal health problem." I keep waiting for someone to tell me it's "just Manny being Manny." I have gotten to the point where I just don't watch any sports with the exception of NASCAR and that's just a reason to doze off in the LaZBoy. I would rather be doing something than watching someone else do something. That's why I fish and have too many hobbies.

Saddest movie ever!
What are you guys talking about? Every man of a certain age will confirm that "Ol' Yeller" is the saddest movie ever.

Tin, LBH, Matt: UPS
Because you didn't pay extra for the overnight delivery. Two days and you're complaining? I'd be thrilled.

Things that people pay way too much for
Wow, I can honestly say I respectfully disagree with every point you made. I think starbucks make's excellent coffee (although I will concede that it is overpriced), and I don't know what kind of convenience stores you have where you live but the ones where I live all have terrible coffee. It doesn't take much to get better coffee than Starbucks. My experience has been different than yours. It has been nearly 20 years since I worked in retail, but the defective return rate on Polo merchandise was about 30% back then. Ralph Lauren was good about it though. They would take the merchandise back and give us credit.

Maybe a Nomex suit then?

Anybody Know How To Build an Ark?
I have a garage full of gopher wood I'll make you a good deal on. Plus, I have a tape measure that is calibrated in cubits.

They burn the beans. Thus their nickname of "Starburnt." That doesn't make for good coffee at all. Of course, de gustibus non est disputandum.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Starbucks coffee. That is nasty stuff that is nowhere near as good as what you get at the average convenience store. For the price of a Lucky Craft Pointer I can get two Rapala X-Raps that, in my experience, are far superior baits. I managed a department store for years and was always amazed at men who paid big bucks for Ralph Lauren Polo merchandise. It was the poorest quality merchandise we sold. The knit shirts shrank about 20% in length with a couple of washings and the lapels on the suits would not lay flat.

Ever have another boater jump right in front of your next spot?
I don't think I have ever had a problem with another bass fisherman, but the local bluegill and crappie fishermen around here have no manners at all. And they complain about us! I was casting a spinnerbait to the trees along the Iron Curtain on Lake Talquin yesterday when an older man in a jon boat putted along between me and the bank. I asked him if he didn't see me or what and he just responded that he thought I was casting out to deep water. Even if I had been, he came too close.

beer of choice??
Oh man! I remember the days when a Reds game, a bottle of Hudepohl, and a bowl of Skyline chile was about as good as it got.

Things that make you feel stupid
Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, shrank it and gave it to my little brother. I always seem to do it in front of a bunch of people.

Tournament partner from hell
Yeah, he's married. At one point during the day he told me that he thought most of the guys in the club fished to get away from their wives.

I love day games, but...
I have started using BullFrog Mosquito Coast. It's a combination SPF30 sunblock and insect repellant. It's a clear spray that doesn't feel as nasty as the creams and it works extremely well. I fished 9 hours last Saturday in the Florida sun and only applied it once. You could not tell I had been outside.

beer of choice??
Beer is made of malted grain with hops only added as flavoring.

Great first bass boat???
I fish club tournaments out of a 1984 Bass Tracker Tournament TX with a 50 hp Mercury 2 stroke. A buddy won our March tournament on Seminole off the back deck of that old boat. It is the sort of boat I would suggest. You never know; you might just keep it for a long time.

Amber Bock or Sam Smith's Organic Ale when I have a few extra bucks.

Found my new to me boat. Wooooo Hoooooooo
That is about as beautiful a boat as I have ever seen. As to the single console, I hate being the co-angler in a dual console boat. There isn't enough room for my stuff, and I bring too much stuff.

Old people...
There is one old dude I run into on Lake Talquin pretty regularly. He must be close to 80 years old and, if you are fishing where he wants to fish, he will move right in where you are, drop his anchor and start fishing. On two different occasions I have called him on it and he just responds, "This is my brim hole." I pointed out that I was there first and he just repeated that it was his brim hole.

Tournament partner from hell
I was pretty determined to not let him mess up my day. I tried to keep a positive attitude all day.
