well i plan to use that quest rod in my up and comming tournaments starting january. im going to move my spinnig reel from the ugly stick to my berkley buccaneer b-30 and try that as a cranking rod since its fiberglass. it may be better then the ugly stik i was using as a crank rod. most likely rw could tell me more since he's the equipment guru here by thge way it was a 40 dollar rod that was on sale for 24 bucks. i however do like the action of the okuma reel feels simular to a shammano if i spelt it right

ok thanks i was just wondering what others thought or knew about this stuff p.s my mom bought it for me i didnt ;D ;D i tried it out today it was ok but theres rods a bit more sensitive for plastics. by the way the rods rated at 25 lbs for med hvy so a 5 lber shouldnt break it unless its a poorly made rod

well im glad to see flechero and craig worked it all out. i like flechero alot hes pretty cool ( and i dont mean just because you sent me baits that were totally awsome) i think its cuz he's got that part where it says hero ;D 8-) as a christian brother i'll admit he reacted like a hero if i can do that for someone someday i'll be 1/2 way decent wouldn't you say?

how good is a med/hvy quest Ls7 Im7 rod it was listed as 39.99 and its marked down to 24.99 also how good a reel is the Okuma Stratus GT SGT-30? was 59.99 i got it for 15.00

I'm sure you've made alot of friends as a Co with that attitude. You would not be in my boat very long. And, no, you dont have equal rights. You have the back half, nothing more. If you dont make an a** of yourself and are easy to get along with I generally will do my best to get you into good water and get a limit. However, if you come out with that kind of attitude and you actually did start casting over my head you would end up having a very long day - ending with a counselling session with the tournament director. I can't imagine you've really fished the Stren and the Series and be serious about that last comment. I just hope no future co-anglers get influenced by that post. B i like this lil post here because its right casting over the guys head is a no no, thats not the attitude to take especially if you might get some boat owner as nice as bshaner here. you get a rep pretty quick with boaters as a co angler, as to how you conduct yourself on the boat

way to go fivelimit i'd do exactly the same thing i'm no ones toy thats for sure before i even get in the boat i tell the boat owner exactly if you exspect me to be net boy for you yopu better be ready to net mine as well otherwise net them yourself and i'll net my own

my tournament preparing starts well into a month or serveal months before my 1st tournament i start by putting on my fav group called 6th hour (local heavy metal christian band) then break out the topo maps i study them extisively then i'll have a buddy who has a boat take me on the lake i'll compaire the lake with the topo map to see how the enivirenment has changed. then i'll check out the hatch and look at migeration patterns as im checking everything out. i do mean researching it ( im a research geek so its no pressure to me) i8'll also watch how conditions change through out the day which will effect how i will fish. i'll also do some prefishing. then its off to the local tackle shops i'll talk to the people there fishermen who are locals as well as the tackle owners them selves this also provideds a wealth of informantion. then i look for those old barber shops that always have s few old men hanging around i'll get a hair cut and start talking fishing its not uncommon here in the south to find an oldtimer whose fished the lake all his life, heres where i buy him a cup of cooffee and a game of checkers as we talk fish. as the tournament approaches i check my fishing lines ,change lines as necsary, as i check out the weather i dicide what im going to bring since im a co angler im limited so i bring one tackle bag with and a fishing vest full of tackle so if conditions change suddenly im prepared to meet them. i have my to go to lures tied on my rods that i'll start with, of course this may change once i talk to the boat owner he may have a differnt plan for fishing worse yet he may not even know what he's doing and i end up playing teacher and educator as well as menoter which is fine , on the other hand i may get the drawing of someone who actually knows what he he doing and we can intelligently discuss the game plan for the day, and work things out so that we both have a great tournament, if done right 2 guys can easily find a pattern and both of us get a limit in the boat and he can win as a boater and i win as a co angler, since i compete againist other co anglers the boat owner i will hope realizes im not competeing againist him, and we end up with a great day on the water. one other thing ive had my dad hire guides to take us out we'll mark thhe spots via hand held gps. the reason why is many tournament anglers do the same thing and know those sposts them selves so those are spots to avoid and its better to come up with your own spots which does avoid trouble.

Then a few days later, the UPS truck honks and I'm signing for something else that Lois ordered from BPS. Hey, but how can you beat that, on the one hand I've got a genuinely enthused fishing partner, and on the other hand, I can continue my extravagant spending habits without feelings of guilt Roger now thats a mman whose been blessed

Have you been in a Bass Pro Shop lately? The place is full of young guys with their girlfriends. It looks like a pretty hot date place to me. Most of the ladies, though, seem to have the same look on their face as I do when SWMBO drags me to Bed, Bath and Beyond. REMEMBER.........there are a few rare females around that would much rather go to BPS than to BBY! Now, we have our priorities in line now thats the kind of woman im looking for i figure if i could find one like mom here whose at least 1/2 as smart and loves to fish she'd be perfect for me lol thats much better then me fishing a tournament and her staying at home compaining im gone all the time and how much of an idiot i am for fishing in the rain and what not i figure sooner or later theres gonna be that opne woman who will be redneck enough to thinks thats actually a hot date

well texan i for one am dang proud of you and how you served with the best you were able to give that in itself you can keep with pride and dignity. I'd say you certianly deserve a fishing trip if your ever in alabama let me know i'll see what i can do to put you on the bass just so i can say i fished with a bona fide hero which in my eyes would be down right awsome. so if your ever up to it lets go
