  1. fishingismylife, if I were you I'd visit BPS site and look at the page (link below) under 70 dollars and look at each review. Check all the review will help out alot. Out of all review I've found David Fritts Signature Series is one of the best reel for that price. It has 6.3:1 gear ratio you looked for. Good luck with your choice. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SportingGoods?RequestAction=advisor&RequestData=CA_AttributeSelected&UseSheet=&ResultsPerPage=25&CatPath=All%2BProducts%252F%252F%252F%252FFreshwater%2BFishing%252F%252F%252F%252FReels%252F%252F%252F%252FBaitcast&OrigCatPath=All%2BProducts%252F%252F%252F%252FFreshwater%2BFishing%252F%252F%252F%252FReels%252F%252F%252F%252FBaitcast&AttribSel=Price+Range+%3D+%27%252450%2520to%2520%252475%27&submitted=yes&cmSType=N&viewastext=false&eaport=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.basspro.com%2Fwebapp%2Fwcs%2Fstores%2Fservlet%2F&storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&categoryId=100001001&deptId=100000000&subdeptId=100001000&ea_sortDirection=&ea_sortColumnName=&currentpage=3

  3. I've been debating if I want to get the 7'10, still undecided. How long is the handle? Try it out in your backyard. Let us know.
  4. Mostly yes but not BPS David Fritts Signature Series reel for 60 bucks.
  5. They should be. Unless you used a smaller diameter line like 10 lb test. Most of the DT model are accurate depth unlike Norman's DD22 dives 15-18 feet.
  6. No difference. They are ALL reels.
  7. How many of you take your new reel out of the box to clean out the lube from manufacturer prior use? Or you leave as it is then clean after few outings?
  8. I knew it. Has excuse for everything. Ran out of an excuse. :
  9. Quantum Energy PT was the first baitcast reels that came out with uncap screw handle. Look what Shimano did, copied the same handle on Calais, Chronarch BPV and BSV. Can't come up with their own ideas? : Yeah keep on badmouthing Quantum all you like.
  10. Used to work at UPS and I know what they are like in the warehouse, tossing package around not handled with care even the package labeled fragile. Like others, I use 5" PVC with 6 rods inserted nicely. Lot of scratches on my PVC.
  11. Google "sufix deep crankin'" I see few store listed on there. Whatever store I post it will say "other site" :
  12. Love those bait during prespawn! Can't wait til in March. Crawl it weightless. Landed 5 of 7-9 lbers within 2 weeks of March. They can't resist the green pumpkin/copper/purple.
  13. True. Didn't cross my mind. They could have bought from their local tackle that sat on the shelf for a long while instead of buying newer ones from BPS.
  14. Every wonder why Bill Dance switched from Dawia to Quantum and Greg Hackney from Shimano to Quantum? Yeah most people have had a bad experience with Quantum back in the 80's and that left them scars not to try a new one nowadays. Like I've used Stren for a long time until they introduced Sensor and it cost me lot of good fish in national tournament. Never went back to Stren. The scar remains.
  15. Not that I doubt you. There are 2 review posted at BPS from last month alone stating that the bill does break off easily. So I don't know.
  16. my mistake, your right. He used Energy PT to rip it through the grass. Then used prototype tour rod at KY.
  17. It the same rod that KVD used to win in Florida, with red eye shad.
  18. Sufix Deep Crankin' - NEW Sufix Castable 100% Fluorocarbon - NEW Anyone tried one of em, yet? It says Deep Crankin' line sinks faster and has minimum stretch for near instant hooksets. Sounds like a fluorocarbon but it is mono. Hmmm, gonna try it. Since Sufix Elite have treated me real good so I'm gonna give both a stab!
  19. Not seeing CXX on BPS, Cabelas, nor *** you guys talking about. Do they exist anymore?
  20. O please, tried your advise on Yo Zuri Ultra Soft on my spinning outfit 2 years ag with Lucky Craft pointer. Stripped it off immediately. Worse line ever. Then took other advise of yours to try Fat Ika, worse gimmick I've played with. Ain't listen to "fishing God" no more. ;D
  21. 12# either Sufix Elite and/or Seaguar InvizX. Gonna try new AbrazX. I'm too scare to throw deep divers on 10# Don't see how most people do it.
  22. For me, good size of bluegill for bass would be between 3 to 4". How I know this, my buddy and I have done some night fishing for cats with live gills and landed a couple of good size bass with em.
  23. He won't leave his Color-C-Lector home without it. :
  24. Course they're all big in golf ponds after chowing down on chartreuse golf balls. Good shot of last picture. Nice fish!
  25. Like basser89 said it could be the spring or other part that came loose in there. If you are comfortable taking it apart and inspect what the problem is. Open the side plate gentle to see what pops out or hanging loose then place it back in. Should be easy fix.
