  1. Summer average was about 2 pounds now its like 1-1.5
  2. T-rig backwards and forwards both work
  3. Yes you do put the hook under the o ring or zip tie but only at the part it curves. http://www.bassfishingtipsresource.com/sites/ehonsinger/images/Wacky%20Tool.jpg theres a good picture when using o ring. but i would try zip ties
  4. Use zip ties they are alot better they hold onto worm tighter and they don't effect the action of the worm. also they are cheaper than o rings (no tool required) ;D
  5. I have said numerous times that you can use zip ties. Heres why, they are cheaper, you can adjust them to the desired tightness, you can place hook under them then adjust them so you don't have to go into any of the worm and at least in my experience I have found that I have lost more perfectly good worms getting pulled out of o rings by the bass than with zip ties. Both methods work but I think zip ties are a better method at least for me.
  6. I know its a little early talking about this but will my soft baits hold up over the winter being in the bag in my house and will there be the same action in them when its spring. I live in Mass so won't be doing to much bass fishing in the winter. :'( (to much snow)
  7. Well my fishing trip in the morning was somewhat of a success got a couple of nice 2-3 pounders. But then fishing off the shore at the small pond I got nothing, saw lots of fish from the shore but didn't catch any of them. Tried everything senkos, jigs, crank baits, spinner baits evern threw out the old spoon. And a strange thing happened to me after a couple of casts I got strike then all of a sudden my line broke (I was using 20 pound test). No idea how that happened. But next weekend i'm fishing the bigger pond in a canoe hope to have more success before winter sets in
  8. I really have no idea, never fished swim baits. Mostly fishing large mouth bass
  9. I'm new with swim baits and right now i'm not to confident in rigging my own. Does anyone know any really good pre rigged swim baits that will catch bass?
  10. Haha great story, u will get that big one
  11. Hey man same thing has happened to me I went out with a friend of mine who was new at bass fishing (he had only ocean fished before). And about his 3rd trip he casted a yamamoto and wasn't even paying attention to it. it sat in the same place for about 10 min then my friend decides to reel in and what do you know he catchs about a 6 pound bass. But I keep trying I know it will be my turn to catch the big fish soon.
  12. I never keep any bass, I'd rather catch them bigger the next year ;D
  13. All great dogs I will post my two when I get a pic on the computer
  14. Hey nboucher I live in Carlisle its right next to concord and about 40 min away from boston. I will be trying all of these suggestions thanks everyone. But sad to say my fishing trip to this pond has been postponed to saturday afternoon/ evening But saturday I will be fishing a bigger pond in the morning with my canoe and then off to the small pond in the afternoon, A day of all fishing I love it ;D
  15. Saw a guy last weekend in a kayak getting pulled by pike he hooked. it was about 42 inchs, he caught it using live bait
  16. Wacky rig with a small o-ring or zip tie to put the hook under so u don't have to hook the senko itself. But lately I have been trying texas rigging and had success. I would try both until u find what the fish like where you are fishing. Good Luck
  17. Haha road warrior that made me laugh so hard, nec237 i try another pond not worth it to waste ur time after u have tried all of those things and not catch a thing
  18. nice fish, keep trying and u will find the big ones ;D
  19. I agree, but maybe try some jigs in the deep water and move them along the bottom
  20. I've used white hula grubs and white senkos. White hula grubs I have had some success. (there is small black spects in the white) and the white senkos with no black spects I haven't had much luck. But I would try them out and see if u have success, something can not work for my lake or pond but be great for ur lake or pond. Good Luck
  21. thanks guys well I can't wait till friday hopefully it will be worth it, anymore tips from other people would be great. Thanks again
  22. On friday I will be attempting to fish a small pond that I have only been to once before nobody fishes it that often but I have heard rumors from people saying they have caught nice bass there. It is small probably about 10 ft deep at the most. There is lily pads all around the shores. I have seen sunfish and small bait fish along the shores. The water is not clear and the bottom is very grassy. Any ideas how I should plan to fish this. (I'm not going out in my boat, so I will be fishing from the shore) Weather in my area in the past week has been in the 60's and will stay at this for the rest of the week. Any ideas would be helpful
  23. Thank for the tips, it was a tough day today in mass got a some strikes but no fish. :'( Had huge pike break my line (didn't have my steel leader on) and lost my favorite crank bait. But still had a great time. Next weekend I will be doing some pond fishing can't wait till then.
  24. Wats the best way to rig and retrieve a fat ika? I was thinking of weightless texas rigging but I have no idea about retrieval.
