  1. Yeah well I am frustrated, but hey things happen, rather have it break off now then when I am fighting the monster. Thanks for the info, going fishing tomorrow without the new setup. Still should be a good time regardless.
  2. I was just pulling the line above the knot to tighten it down. There was plenty of line out and the tip was under no pressure at all. And i was not holding the rod near the tip, there was no pressure on the rod at all. I really don't understand it.
  3. Well this morning I was tying baits on for fishing in the next couple of days, went to pull the line to tighten a knot on a recently tied hook and crack my brand new St. Croix Avid breaks. > It had only been on one trip and that was yesterday and preformed very well. I am very disappointed with the rod, considering it is my biggest rod purchase ever. All the pressure was on the line when it broke so I have no idea what went wrong. Any ideas??
  4. Soft plastics: GYCB, Zoom Hard Baits: Lucky Craft, Rapala Rods: St. Croix, G Loomis Reels: Shimano Line: Trilene Hooks: Gamakatsu
  5. Simply amazing, keep up the good work
  6. I will be in ur shoes a year from now, still got two weeks of summer left.
  7. Well we just had a cold front move in the other day, I fished a topwater and caught 13 bass on that. So idk you might wanna give it a try if the water is calm. It sure worked for me the other day. I agree about using plastics too, try throwing on a wacky rigged senko they always work. Good luck
  8. RW recommended the Avid for me and I received it today. Its great, I would highly recommend it.
  9. I will give it to him that he is a good player, but the fact is he isn't one anymore. Just gotta realize when to quit and get on with life, my prediction is a horrible season then a whole offseason of him complaining and trying to decided if he wants to retire or not.
  10. x2 I used to fish crankbaits on a normal general purpose rod and its not the same as using a cranking rod
  11. I recently got some topwater baits that are handmade by this guy I fish with up in maine when I visit my house up there. Man topwater for smallies is so fun, I fished for them a couple days ago and caught a couple of 2 1/2 pounders on them. Good luck and I am sure u will have fun.
  12. Topwater, can't beat that explosion
  13. I know everyone is going to get on me about this but I really don't like yo-zuri hybrid. I used on it multiple occasions and it worked great, but then after a number of outings I had problems with the line breaking farther into the spool. I don't know its just my opinion but I wouldn't get it. Maybe others have had good experiences with it but I sure haven't. It was very abrasion resistant but I didn't like how it broke, as for sensitivity it was alright but not incredible
  14. Man sounds like you have a great spot. Sorry you lost that fish but hey it happens to everyone. I had a giant smallmouth dive under the boat and break my braid last summer. You'll get him again
  15. CABELAS
  16. I catch alot of my fish in 2 feet of water, try using a topwater bait. They will kill it
  17. Jmac and I fish together and we used different spools of yo zuri bought at different locations. And I had the exact same problems. The line even broke further in the spool so when you went to cast it the lure and some of the line just went flying. From my experiences this line wasn't very good. That's just my opinion
  18. I'm in high school so everyone has a facebook, sometimes I find myself looking through albums with none of my friends in them. I don't know how I get there but I am. Its terrible haha, bassresource has help control my addiction.
  19. I agree, but still a nice fish
  20. Its a great reel, I have the e5 for crankin and soon I will have the e7 for soft plastics.
  21. I used to sit when I fished in a canoe but now I can stand in my other boat, so I stand all the time. I feel like I can't fish as well when I am sitting.
  22. I have also used this tool and found many ponds around me. Great tool, hope you find that state record
  23. As usually great paint jobs
