Help me choose a cranking rod please!!!
Either the above St. Croix or a St. Croix Premier Series crankbait rod. I have the premier and it works great for crankin

Got one on the Javallon 160
Great fish and way to stick with it. How much did it weigh?

They killed my Pond!!!!! Heartbroken in OKC
What a shame, hope you find a better pond

Maybe I'll give turtle soup a try (rant)
It happens to the best of us. I spent 40 min pulling up branches that had my lucky craft pointer on it, and didn't find it. I can't imagine having a bait that expensive getting wrecked, especially by a darn turtle. Well I'm sure you will fix it right up and catch a monster.

Need your input
Ok just making sure, and I agree with you about the Citica

x2. If you can afford it, go for the Avid. You won't regret it. And btw, the Citica E is a very fine reel. The citica e is a great entry level reel. Don't see many pro's using it. You don't see very many pros using any shimano reels actually. They don't seem to need the advertisement. The Citica E is a great reel with great features at a great price. What's your logic behind needing a reel that costs the same or more as the rod it's to be mounted on? Hopefully it's something other than just matching price tags :-? If your talking to me then I am getting the curado because I have one and love it. Not that it is the same price as the avid. But you might not be talking to me so this whole post could be irrelevant. haha whatever

Falcon FTO
My friend who i fish with daily has a whole set of these and to tell you the truth I am very jealous. They look great and really keep your lures organized. If your willing to spend the extra money I think it is worth it

Can you guys suggest a line for my unweighted soft plastic set up.
I use pline fluoroclear and it has worked very well. It works great for my plastics setup. Just be sure to check ur line if your fishing around structure cause it frays, like all fluorocarbon

Favre is retired (for now)
Well the decision has finally been made, Brett Favre has retired. Now we don't have to hear about it every morning on sportscenter. THANK YOU!! Is anyone else happy to get Favre off the news, in my opinion he was just trying to gain publicity

If you could, WHERE?

Gear Ratio for soft plastics

Gear Ratio for soft plastics
For which technique ? :-? well I mainly fish senko type baits, grubs, creature baits, ribbontail worms. Either t-rigged with small bullet weights or weightless. I won't be fishing into heavy cover with this reel.

Gear Ratio for soft plastics
What gear ratio do you guys prefer for fishing soft plastics?? thanks

Your most unusual catch...and what bait did you catch it on?
I was fishing a senko off a shallow flat and caught a backpack. Surprisingly it put up a really good fight

New lake rocord!!!!!!!
Congrats, is she fishing yet?

I totally agree with you, the rod is the most important component. Just for the record though, it IS possible to snap a reel. On a pike trip to Canada, my wife and I completely disabled the gearing of two brand new Quantum casting reels over a two-day period > Roger wow that's interesting, haha thats why I am sticking with the good old shimano's

New Curado E5 and E7s
I have been using the E5 since day one of this fishing season. All I can say is that its great, it cast a mile, feels great and works great. I'm looking to get another one for a soft plastics set up. I would highly recommend it

your favorite big fish bait.

bass pros and senkos
For me if I catch fish on other things besides senkos it makes me feel better. I know I can catch a bunch of fish on senkos but it just feels better to use other things. Also the pros know so much about fishing that they can come up with an alternative to senkos that works better.

In my case I would rather have a high end rod because that is the most important aspect of the rod and reel combo. Your reel can't snap but your rod can. You can't feel the sensitivty of the bait with ur reel, its with your rod. I don't mind at all putting a citica on a higher end rod, to me it doesn't matter that much. By the way I will probably end up getting another curado to put on it, as long as I make that money in the next 2 weeks. which will be easy.

If you could have a lifetime supply......
senkos, no question
