Maybe juvenile bass?

I'm going with bass fry/young of the year bass. Are they hanging out in groups around cover? Seems like schools of bass fry hang together in cover close to where they hatched for awhile even after their parents stop guarding them.

Those are called "half inch long fish." And if you wait until next month they'll be called "one inch long fish."

I aim to please.

Look very much like Black Chin Shiners. The color pattern, tail fork, and location would point to that.

Anyone else?

they are fry (baby bass) most won't live to see another day but a year from now they can grow up to 8 inches and two years from now they will be 2 yr old largemouths.

Well, superficially (because of the black stripe) they resemble baby LMB fry.... But I'm leaning towards some sort of a minnow or shiner.

As was as was asked, "Are they hanging in a swarm in one small area ? Is there an obvious bass bed nearby" ?

I say, 90% chance of minnows or shiners (of which there are countless species) or 10% chance, LMB fry. An up close, clear, macro photo would make it easier to tell.....

Peace,

Fish

They were in one little area and not in a swarm. They were just hanging out in very shallow water trying to stay away from predators.

Look alot like Fathead minnows to me. They usually hang out in the sun really shallow along the bank... many times in groups of 3-5 or maybe a few more. They have the black stripe, but its hard to tell any other fin structure from your pictures. That'd be my guess though.
