I've seen people do that, never tried it myself. I guess if one color isn't working, color it another! You bought it, your choice now.

Keep at it, your bound to catch something. I've found a rage tail grub really makes those bass hit harder

A marker is not a good idea, the scent will turn them off, get a grub and dip it in jj's magic, one thing that will help is to slow the speed down a little, you want the blades to be just barely cracking the surface, you should notice a trail of bubbles instead of a bunch of water splashing around.

It could be the size. Try a smaller size.

If you are only giving it 10 minutes you are not trying hard enough. Keep on throwin 'em and once you get one fired up you will usually find that it bring others to the top. There's nothing wrong with catchin 'em on a Pop-R, but you will fall in love with buzzers once you get the hang of it.

I've colored blades with black sharpie markers and done very well with them. Sometimes a bright, shiney blade is just too much for them. Like others have said, fish them in cover. They'll work in open water but are so much better in and around weeds, wood, docks and such. Fish them as slow as possible, the easier it looks to catch the more likely a fish will try.

Burn the bank around forage, you will catch one and the blade really doesn't matter, coloring it will just camoflouge the blade....the bait is only good for the sound and vibration it makes.

Man, you´re not alone, I´ve been fishing for more than 3 decades and still can´t catch a cold with them buzzbaits, can count the fish I´ve caught with one hand.

I went out this evening to keep trying it out but never got the chance to. I used the Strike King Shim E Stick and the bass were tearing 'em up, literally. I had to replace five of them. I'll probably go out tommorow and give all of these ideas, for the buzzbait, a shot.

Fishing a buzzbait can be feast or famine. Keep at it! They really shine in the fall when the fish move shallow and when bass first move up to spawn. Make sure it planes right away when it hits the water. Make as much contact with docks, wood, rock as possible. This is a big fish bait. For me it is one of the cheapest baits when you consider the price vs the numbers of fish you can catch with it. I can probably get over 100 bass on a Cavitron. They are only a few dollars.

Back when I lived on a lake, I kept a buzzbait tied on next to the back door. I knew there were 3 spots right off my dock that held fish, and that in the late evening after work, I could catch a few of them. What I learned most from that time was to saturate an area with a buzzbait. I might make 20 or 30 casts to a spot I knew held fish before I got one. I think some them attacked it just to stop the squeaking sound, like they were just sick of a noisy neighbor.
