Hi everyone, I just purchased my first baitcasting rod. A shimano curado 50e. I bought it because I read it was a more finesse type rod. I fish with weightless senko worms as well as top water rapalas. My question now is what type of rod should I pair this reel with? Price is not really an issue but I would like to stay in between 100 and 200 dollars. Any advice would be much appreciated thank you all.

I stuck mine on a 6'10" M Fenwick Smallmouth rod back when amazon had them marked way down. I fish 3 and 4 inch senkos with it as well as light to medium jigs and tubes. I have used it for rattle baits in a pinch, I imagine it would do well with topwaters as well, just a hair longer than I like for that sort of thing.

Cumara Reaction 6'3" M would be an excellent pair for 50e for your needs(weightless worm and small topwater lure). It's going to be sweet, Total weight of the rig(Rod and Reel) would be = 10.3 Oz, It is well Balance Rod.

I put my curado 51e on a redbone 7' medium action rod. This is a dual purpose setup for me. I use it for bass fishing and will be using it for trout and Redfish also.

I also looked at St croix and Shimano rods.

Go online and look at ALX rods, American made lifetime warrenty, 30 day free trail period and give Alex a call.

I use ALX rods since Shimano purchsed Loomis and Lamiglas hasn't come out with state of the art rod blanks for long time now. The ALX rods today use a blank very similar to Loomis NRX series for 1/2 price with state of the art guides etc.

You want something rated 3 power with a fast action between 6'6" to 7'3" depending on your personal preferences.
