Is there anything to repair pitted cork on my rod handle. I know I can buy pit paste from any place that sells rod building supplies. What I am looking for is something I can pick up at my local big box hardware store.

probably fill it with some sort of epoxy dye it with some model paint to match the color you want use a razor like a putty knife apply it then wipe off the excess. I have never done it but that's who id do it iv done it to granite counter tops alot never cork though but I don't see it being any different really it would be so small I don't think you would feel the diffidence in texture and probably would forget its even there.

Heres what you need to do. Find some old wine corks, really any corks will do. Sand them down to a fine dust and mix the dust with a little bit of wood glue. Mix then apply to the craters. Let it fully dry then sand the excess cork/glue off. I've done it before with some cheap wal-mart rods and It came out very nice

No problem. Just try to get a good match on the color. I've found that particular one I posted is pretty close. Just a bit lighter. You won't notice it after using the rod. It lasts a long darn time as well.

I'll echo what RM mentioned. U40 cork sealer. It's worth couple of bucks to order some.

Then "sand" it down with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
