I guess I just don't "get" tournament fishing. Twenty fish might be all you need at Pittsburg, but if you fish a lake like Guntersville.

it's going to take a few BIG fish to win. So why is it that the guys go after five keepers before they really start fishing? Why waste

time with fish you hope to release. I don't get it. :Idontknow:

Kent.....an Elite event is four days of fishing, each day with a five fish limit. Twenty fish, indeed.

Kent, I would venture a guess that most are not fishing to win. They are simply fishing to keep going. Experience has taught them that a five fish limit is the best way to give them a shot at cashing a check.

Going for broke and fishing for big fish might just be the best way to "go broke".

Then why comment on it? If your looking for an answer, fine, ask the question. But.......I suspect, you "not getting it" is your back handed way of tossing a dig at tournament fishing/fisherman.

Barone is guy I would like to have on my boat or sit around a campfire with. I enjoy everything I have read of his. Catch twenty fish, catch bigger fish, score more points, win more games, make more birdies, all boil professional sports down to its essence. For some it's winning; for others it is competing against the best; for some it is just about hanging on to the ring. The answer is the same for all.

Great as usual... his style and methods of boiling it down and constantly finding the gift that needs to be shared with everyone else! Great... Thanks Glenn and db
