Before this 9.5 pounder, the biggest bass I had caught in this lake was a 5 - but I knew there were MUCH bigger bass in there - I have a couple of "one that got away" stories from this lake. Let's see what next year brings! (Hopefully, she'll still be around - there are a number of "catch-n-keep" anglers around )

BUT - guess which lake I'll be fishing this evening!

I went back to Lake "X" last night - no more 9 pounders for me...but the lake did give me a nice 20"/3.52lb fish - much nicer than the 10" to 13" fish I was catching earlier in the morning at another lake... This 3 1/2 pounder was my 1000th bass of this season (the 9 1/2 pounder was number 985)

It's stories like these that keep us all heading out to the water, rain or shine. Thanks for sharing.

I seem to be able to perform the impossible on a frequent basis. Why, everyone knows that a PQ is a "one-season wonder" - it will just fall into pieces after the first season, it's parts will tremble and disassemble on a big fish, it's drag washers will melt when pulled by a smelt...

Meanwhile, this PQ is nearing completion of it's third season, has reeled in 570 fish, including a 9 and 8 pound bass, and earlier this year - 3 carp with a combined weight of 130 pounds, and it's still tickin'. If I cost average my 6 PQs, then this reel cost me $66. A good value methinks....
