I'v always been a fan of the All terrain tackle jig line up and always always rage tail for a trailer. Though this year the little fishing I got to do I pretty much threw exclusively a custom jig and of coarse a rage craw for a trailer.

Siebert outdoors brush jig and a rage craw!

I use a lot of Booyah and Strike King jigs. This time of year I will add a Zoom Super Chunk as a trailer.

NorthStar Flip & Swim is the most versitile bait on the market because he can flip it into heavy cover or swim the jig in deeper water without missing a beat. I like to pair this with a Big Hammer swimbait or Paca Craw

NorthStar Black Series is another one of my favorites and I like to throw a pit chunk on them.

And finally it is hard to beard a NorthStar hair jig in the colder seasons tipped with a zoom chunk

Strike king black and blue jig with a black papi craw trailer.

IF YOU CAN FIND THEM. UNCLE JOSH MADE A TRAILER RESEMBLING A CRAWDAD ABOUT 1.5-2INCHES

LONG.ITS OLD SCHOOL-BUT IT WILL CATCH FISH NOT JUST IN COLD WATER. I WISH I COULD FIND

MORE :cry4: COLORS; BLACK,BROWN&MOSS GREEN WILL GETEM!

WHY ARE YOU YELLING?

I've been using Northstar jigs for a few years and highlyrecommend them. As far as trailers, I've used Ragecraws this year as recommended by the guys here and haven't been disappointed. For swimjigs I like Poorboys Kickin' Darters, Kietech Impact, and Big Bite baits Cane Thumper. The Cane Thumper lasts longer than than Kickin' Darter. Keitech are awfully expensive but do work well

Jigs:

1) 3/4 to 1oz Big O Foofball or Brush jig/Siebert Outdoors.

2) 1/2 and under/Moaner Predator or Siebert Outdoor

3) shakey heads, Swim jigs and small football jigs Strike King

Trailers:

1) Rage Craw, Lobster, BabyRage Craw, SpaceMonkey, Twintail Menace, Naked jig w/Smokin Rooster, For longer profile - 10" Thumper worm on naked stand up jig like the above mentioned jigs, Rage Hawg, Eeliminator/remove 3/4 to 1" from head thread on jig with tail up toward hook point, Finesse jigs, Rage Shrimp cut down to fit the profile needed.

LOL. KDW96 First of all welcome to BassResource. Just an FYI When you type in all caps on a social forum it means you are yelling. Not to mention it's hard to read.

P.S. I don't know you will enough yet to throw out some "old guy" jokes but there are a few rolling around in my head. Long Mike is on the receiving end of a lot of them.

Casting Gear: Backwater4 custom, rage craw/ lobster

Spinning Gear: Booyah Baby Boo. rage baby craw/ craw

I ordered some Siebert Outdoors jig, because I never tried them before. I'll see how they are. I'm all for supporting our sponsors, provided they make a comparable product, at a competitive price.

Thank for the info. I will try to do better. Buy the way-i can take a joke or ribbing any time :laugh5:

Good luck fishin...................................

I don't have much experience with jigs but the local tackle places here sell one that seems pretty good for about $2 each. They are sold under the name D & L Tackle. I've stocked up on those. I use Netbait Baby Paca Craws and Paca chunks for trailers. What little I've thrown a jig, I've been successful every time using this.

Moaner Hooks Predator Jig + Rage Craw

Northstar jig and rage craw or menace. I also like pit chunks for trailers when flipping. Just to name a few that is.

Imo its very hard to beat a brown fine living rubber jig and a Yamamoto double tail. Been dynamite for me on every lake I've fished all year. Keep it simple, keep it subtle, keep it natural.

Thank you guys !! Any advice for colors? I fish mainly rocky resevoiurs (Unfortunately OffShore).. I need something that won't snag up to easily on rocks and that will get the fish to smash it!! I try and do the best I can because I dont have the funds to purchase a boat. What is the best weight to use? 1/4 oz? I use a SkeetReese Football Head Rod (7'2) with a Shimano Caenan reel with 20 lb braid. What is the best way to fish a jig in a rez? Hop it off the bottom ? Sorry for all the questions I am new and looking to improve!!

Thanks for everything,

Nick.

You cant go wrong with a straight brown jig. Like I said I've caught fish, and good fish in every lake I've fished this year on a plain brown jig with a Yamamoto twin tail grub for a trailer. You dont have to have 10 different colors to catch fish thats unnecessary. Keep it simple, keep it subtle, keep it natural. As for jig heads themselves, if your fishing rock, your going to get hung up, there's no avoiding it. You have to slowly creep that jig over and through rocks the best you can. 99.9% of the time im throwin a 1/2 ounce jig. Perfect all around weight imo. They're not a sponsor here but check out californiareservoirlures.com the best jigs on the market hands down. I'm sure Johnny will have something you like.

you certainly have the right gear for jigs. For rocks I throw a football head 100% of the time. Go to the video section at the top of the page and click how to videos. Good luck!
