I know that this is a new bait! But, maybe some of you warm weather and soft water boy's have had a chance to fish it? I did see a show on Bass Pro's on this bait. It looks like a spook but is is soft plastic.Any info on it? Looks and fished like a winner! :-/ :-? :o

I agree. I watched the same show. I primarily fish grass and this bait looks great. I'm definitely going to add it to my arsenal.

They run around $8 for a pack retail if I remember right.

Get the smaller one. The bigger one is obscenely thick,extremely heavy, and has very little action and doesn't walk very well at all .The smaller ones seem to work great, I just haven't had a chance to use it at a prime place. One thing though,don't expect a zara spook,it won't walk quite like one but it is good on mats and for flinging/skipping way back into and under brush. I also take a glass worm rattle and insert it in the rear end. (suppository? ;D)

Nice review, and advice.  I wrote these off as duds, but what you say is encouraging.

Then there's the SnagProof whatchmacallit...forget. Still have one. It was tempermental, but bass would blow up on it. Hooking sucked on it -hooks too small. It is molded around a chunk of lead in the underside of the tail. This part was pretty important in getting it to behave.

A weedless spook is a GREAT idea. Just need one that works well. I'll consider the Hound, but it sounds like some kinks need to be worked out.

The Mann's Ghost above and some little floating turd by Heddon made in the early 90s.

Try using it with an extremely light keel weighted hook, like 1/32 oz. You don't want to sink it, you just want that weight to keel the bottom  It heps the action tremendously.

Haven't used it yet but it reminds me of a guided trip to Lake Fork in the early 90's. We used something similar called a Fish Stick same profile but smaller. We were targeting bedding bass in 8 -12' of water.  His instructions to us were "let it sink to bottom and just inch along if you feel resistance like grass etc. When you don't feel anything leave it there as long as possible and when you feel a thud reel down and set the hook." We were told it was in a bed. We caught a bunch of good fish but I haven't seen anything that resembled Fish Sticks since then. These may do it but I'm sure techniques discovered since then cover that kind of fishing.....

The Money Hound looks just like the PHish Stick made by Phamtom Baits a few years back.  The Phish Stick is a slow sinking bait like the Senko. Will give the Money Hound a try.

I bought 2 packs of them this summer, and had mixed feelings about it. I didn't have have any luck with them during daytime, but murdered the lake with them at night. As stated above putting a worm rattle at the end is key. I tried 5/0 and 7/0 hooks with it. The 7/0 Ol' monster hooks worked better for me. I also think that it is too big in diameter, and YUM should make the next gen smaller.

If you used the larger sized one, then yeah, It is wayyy too thick and will take at least a 7/0 monster hook and even that isn't quite enough.It isn't the length that gets me,thats fine. Normally I would prefer the larger sized baits but the smaller one is much better IMO.

Owner 5/0 riggin hook is what I've used. A 5/0 Gammy EWG will work too.

Those Excalibur EWG that they reccomend look pretty good,they have a nice round gap, but I've never bought any yet.
