Yum Dancin Eel

Featured Replies

What do you guys think of this lure? I have heard some mixed responses in reviews, but i trust your opinions more. I also am planning on using the tadpole version because of the fact i live in MN

Thanks,

VC

I used the smaller one and caught a few small fish. The line would wrap around the treble probably 1/3 of the time. It's a pain

They worked for me, I caught some nice fish on the big one. Don't work it too fast, just till you can feel the the 'wiggle".

Lures are simply tools which you use, under certain circumstances, to achieve depth and speed control. There is no reason to think that this lure could not achieve that criteria. A lot of the hype and TV coverage has probably clouded that fact, with regards to this lure and turned some anglers off.

Isn't this the second time around for the Dancin Eel?  Didn't  Bill Dance try to peddle this notion in the mid-80's.  It sure seems to me that he did.  If it was a good idea then, it would have stuck around, but I don't it being promoted for more than a season.

Yes it is the second time around and I bought some of the first ones. This lure will catch bass if you take the time to learn how to use it. It can be deadly when the shad are running.

I have never had a lure that didn't catch fish! I bet it would be a killer for stripers and barracuda, I make my own eel like tubes for cuda and it's the #1 producer down here for them.

Banjo Minnow...... ::o

:) lol

Like said, don't waste your time. I heard great things so I bought one, didn't even get a look, so now it sits in the tackle box taking up precious space. Storm makes something similar that I've had sucess with, try that first.

It makes fish bite even when they're not hungry, this is because it creates a genetic response. Lol i can still remember that add word perfect. Actually though, I caught a few fish with those, but still not as good a "Roland Martin's Helicopter lure" ah, good times good times

:)

Take the time to learn to fish them and you won't think they are funny anymore.

I've got a 370 (original) box full of R.M.'s Helicopters - even with instructions! Never used. Maybe someday!  ;D

As far as the flying lure goes, I never had them, but I do use the Fat Ika, reverse rigged, which has a similar action (back-up). And, I'll see if I can find the article I have stashed in my bookmarks, about fishing Canadian lakes for smallies by reverse rigging a tube in similar fashion to the flying lure. Maybe not as far fetched as you think?  :)

the flyin lure will beat them all ;D

I used the flying lure and caught a few fish when I was younger.
