Well, I'm in Baltimore, and still waiting for out blizzard snow to go away.  I have been reading this forum just about every evening, and I've found out about this Fat Ika.  I went and bought a bag of them.  Just wondering what the best way to rig them is, and how to fish them.  Do they fall and wiggle just like a senko, or do I jig them around on the floor?  Thanks!

Rig em' backwards(skirt forward) and fish them weightless.

They don't wiggle like a senko.but they do one thing most lures don't do...when casted to a certain area they fall away from you. If you cast to a under hanging tree branch that fat ika will glide under that tree.

Most of my came as the bait was falling.If i don't get a bite on the first fall,I just raise my rod,let it fall on slack line and reel in any extra slack.

Nope, but I do use weights on the ends of my Senco's sometimes when I whacky rig them..

Crestliner, thank you!!  That's exactly what I needed.  The first fish I catch this year on a Fat Ika, I'll hold it up for you.

BTW....the second photo above is that of the "Big Ika" - a bit longer version of the Fat Ika. Both are excellent baits for either LM or SM bass.

If you are ever in the situation to fish a river (with current) for SM, try hooking either Ika on the skirt end, using a 2/0 circle hook. Cast up ahead of an eddy and let it drift on back. A killer!

Last year I started fishing Fat Ika's the same way I fish Senkos - weightless, T-Rigged (through the skirt).  Think of Fat Ika's as a Senko alternative rather than a Jig alternative.  Lot's of great advice above

correct, texas rig it with the skirt on the top of the hook near the line.

Yes, with the circle hook. Hook it just behind the skirt (as the skirt is welded onto the body). Or, if the water you are fishing is "snaggly", then just Texas rig it as above. You're going to be very happy you tried this bait come spring!

I've never fished an Ika either and want to give a try this year. Why does everyone lean more towards the fat Ika over the big Ika? Also, what are you guys thoughts on rigging it the way they show it in this video?
