Stradic Fj

Featured Replies

Anyone used the new Stradic reel? What are your thoughts? What applications do you/would you use it for? Seems like its getting good reviews. I'm thinking about getting one for Christmas.

Excellent Excellent Excellent reel! I own the CI4 2500 for fresh and my buddy has the 5000FJ for salt. I've used his here and there. No complaints at all. Great reels man! Hopefully you can get a killer deal on black friday or something.

Thanks for the feedback dam. I hope it does pop up on sale because everything seems to a big thumbs up on this reel.

Anytime bro! I have other stuff I wanna buy over next few months but I def want a 5000FJ to replace my Penn Battle.

What size do you want to get yours in?

Not positive yet. 2500 or 3000 for freshwater.

i just bought the 1000fj. I was a little hesitant at first using it but after a couple drops of oil in the oil port the reel works flawlessly and it so incredibly smooth. Great great reel. It seems there's a little bit of a break in period with the reel. I think mine was one trip.

@OP Go with 2500 for all casting stuff, 3000 if you trolling lakes for trout/walleye.

@iabass8 I'm jealous I would love to have a 1000 stradic in my arsenal. :P

I like my 2500fj. Great reel! 2500 is big enough for fresh water. Mine has 15ld braid w/8ld flor/c leader.

I have used the 5000 fj and it is a very good reel, as are my stradics fi. The improvement I like is the fact the the 5000 is the same reel as the 4000 with more line capacity and a different handle, weighing the same. A good choice for inshore or freshwater use, for me it's a purchase on a whim, all of my inshore reels are working superbly.

I have 3 Stradics 1000's that I use for RIver Smallmouth. 2 are FI's and 1 is an FJ.

All are fine Reels but the FJ is a cut above the FI's. There may be better Reels out there but the FJ is the smoothest Reel I have ever used.

My buddy has a 4000 model. Its excellent. He bought it for inshore/boat fishing but uses it for fresh water also. Very smooth

Awesome! Thanks for the replies. Sounds like this will go on the list of things for santa to bring.

I have the 1000fj and have been liking it more than my 2500ci4. The xship makes it so smooth, awesome reel and theres some good deals on ebay from time to time.

It's a great reel, you wont be dissapointed if you do pick one up.

I've got the 2500 mounted on a Loomis 822S as a backup dropshot rig. It's every bit as good as my Ci4s which are the same 2500 size. It's as smooth as silk, has an excellent drag system, but it is just a tad heavier. Cool paint on it too, irredescent green/white.

I have a 5000 and 3000FJ. Excellent reels and noticeably sturdier feeling than the Fi. The 5000 is particularly great for inshore or stripers.
