Team Daiwa Zillion Crazy Cranker Reel

Featured Replies

any opinions on this reel .... I bought one simply because of the 4:9 retrieve lowest one out there & very similar to the speed spools I used for years.

Great reel, built like a tank, silky smooth.

I've been using a Daiwa in 4.9:1 for cranking for a couple of years now. I believe the line recovery is around 26in. per handle turn. Prior to that I used a Curado in 3.8:1, which i found to be a bit too slow. Of the two, I prefer the Daiwa, but more so because it's a little faster than for any other reason. If you've never owned a Zillion, you'll be very happy with it as it is on par with the Lew's you mentioned as far a quality and smoother, not to mention the addition of the magnetic anti-backlash.

Oh yea, If you decide you don't like it, shoot me out a PM and we can talk trade.

actually, the IPT of the zillion CC is 22 inches per turn. anyway, i just love mine. i own dozens of reels so i have a lot to choose from so most of mine reels only get out a few times a year but the CC goes out with me on nearly every outing. it's one of those rare reels that i find myself liking more each time i fish it.

The Zillions are very well built and refined reels. Despite the ratio difference the IPT of the Daiwa is identical to the Revo Winch.

Thanks guys ! Truly appreciated !

Zillions CC is a great reel, 22" ipt as mentioned above. I have a few Zillions, but for my Deep Cranking reel I went with a lower cost option, the PQ 4.7:1 ratio which is 19" IPT. It's a reel I just will not use as much as my others, so didn't want to spend too much money.

I love it for my deep diving crank setup!!! Buttery Smooth!
