and good luck this weekend....great Foundation...they do excellent work..

Make a wish lost my support when they refused a terminally ill boy's wish for a bear hunt, coastal brown if Mr memory is working today. There are now foundations set up to grant wishes that encompass all wishes not just politically correct ones.

Probably isn't the bear's 1st choice in wishes...

Five smallmouth baits...

Kalins 3" "Triple Threat" grubs; pumpkin/chartreuse

Kalins 5" Lunker grub; bluegill

Gopher Tackle "Big John's" mushroom jig head; 1/8oz & 3/16oz

Charlie Brewer "Pro" spider jig head; 2/0 hook 1/8oz; 3/0 hook 1/8oz & 1/4oz

Lucky Craft Pointer "Silent" 95; any "ghost" color (minnow, bream, baby bluegill)

Lucky Craft Pointer 75; color as above

Lucky Craft Gunfish 95; Sunfish color

Wiggle Wart; phantom brown crayfish (I haven't fished this color but it looks interesting to me)

Having never been to Pickwick I can't recomend things that work well there, every lake has it's own little thing where something works there, often very well, that is maybe just so so somewhere else, or maybe what kills them on lake X, will haul water there. BUT........smallmouth being smallmouth, the five things I would take anywhere and have a resonable expectation to catch them would be:

4" senko, rig it any way you want

suspending hard jerkbait of your choice

3.5" tube

Top water popper

and a 4" straight tail finesse worm like a zoom, robo, etc....and again rigging options are many, drop shot it, shaky head, c-rig, texas rig, etc...

thanks for the feedback..

i've got a list now of what to add for the BR trip.......

if anyone else has some ideas...please add...

  • 1 month later...

1. Wiggle wart anything craw looking

2. Extreme bass tackle tubes

3. Jig n craw

4. Spinnerbait with lots of flash, I use a quad willow from reddirtbaits

5. Culprit incredicraw on a shakeyhead

In this order: Tube, tube, tube, tube and lastly, a tube. Hope this helps

From a not so good fisherman. Always keep a curl tail grub. Bounce it off the bottom, or swim it, they will catch something.

Couldn't agree more!

In this order: Tube, tube, tube, tube and lastly, a tube. Hope this helps
