what would you guys use based on the following conditions:

water clarity- slightly stained( visibility 3-6ft)

forage-( perch and smaller minnows)

time of year-(june-late august)

time of day-(i usually fish from 7 to 10 in the morning then about 5 to 8 in the evening)

structure-(submerged weeds with scattered wood)

Anything topwater... poppers, spooks, jitterbugs, etc...

Weightless worms.. I prefer slug-os

Thats what I would try to start...

Soft plastics, spinners and topwater lures. Pumpkinseed and black plastics, black with red spinnerbaits and I like the frog colored ribbit frogs on topwater with a retrieve just fast enough to keep it on top barely. I like t-rigged plastics.

1/2 oz jig green pumpkin with zoom chunk

Id say topwater (I like frogs) especially early in the morning. Also weightless senkos or T-rigged worms/soft plastics.

What you use really depends on the type of bass you have in this lake, largemouth or smallmouth bass.

The cover you re targeting sounds like LMB and you didn't describe any structure like bottom features; sand, gravel, rocks, channels, dam, rip rap, perminate boat docks or boat houses, pilings etc. Weed breaks and lay downs are shoreline cover elements that attract LMB, outside or off shore structure tend to attract the more roaming smallmouths and larger LMB.

For the shoreline cover you mentioned;

Top water Chug Bug and Spash-It worked along the breaks and lay downs.

3/8 oz swimming jig in Charteuse/green/blue skirt with green pumpkin 3" curl tail grub.

Broken back Rapala in fire tiger. over looked lure good for small lakes.

Texas rigged 6" finesse worm, 1/8 oz sinker, 2/0 worm hook, color of your choice.

If you can see 6 ft. , it is definitely clear water patterns. Green plastics, and if you have alittle wind on top, use jerk baits.

If the forage is perch and smaller minners then throw a Rapala Shad Rap in perch and throw the small size rap in sliver. If that don't work try a swimbait or a senko. Also a frog won't hurt maybe a popper or spook but focus on the crank or a 6XD or sum other big crankbait in whatever color. I know but here in Va we night fish at Smith Mt. lake and kill them on top water late at night. Hope this helps Tight Line ,Tyler

by plastic do you guys mean swimbaits also?

topwater or buzzbaits at sun up ... like Cavitron or pop r...

then zoom fluke, and watermelon senkos.... also try a blue fleck powerworm...

For me, this would be a perfect spot for a wacky rigged senko type lure. Watermelon,pumpkin,perch laminate.
