Super User 00 mod Posted March 24, 2013 Author Super User Share Posted March 24, 2013 My goodness guys! Those avatar pics are complete toads!!!! Any chance you took the GoPro 00mod? Keep an eye on the fishing reports forum - it'll all be up in the next day or two. A-Jay x2! But the cameras were out more than the GoPro's. Some video was shot, but next time there will be substantially more. Need to figure out a travel camera stand. Jeff

Started saving, anxiously anticipating info on the next one.

Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 26, 2013 Super User Share Posted March 26, 2013 Actually, if you have the GoPro and want to use that then you should get the Motosports suction mount and put it on the cowling of the motor. I'm a little leary of it falling off, but I've heard reports of the Motosport suction cup being used on the wing of a bi-plane going over 200mph (can't officially endorse the activity as the FAA says that it's a no-no ), so unless those Mexican fellas have 1000hp motors on those boats I think you would be fine that way. I've also seen something that said during testing, the GoPro staff used the suction mount to pull a dent out of a staffer's car. LOL I still recommend the Gorilla pod though as you can make a tripod out of it or wrap it around something in the boat. Very handy little guy. Both are very good things to have. Super User 00 mod Posted March 26, 2013 Author Super User Share Posted March 26, 2013 I actually have the gorilla pod. But it is very short. I brought down (2) 2' sections of pvc with a joint and drilled a tripod mount into the cap portion. Just didn't have anywhere to mount it in their boats. My boat, my setup is pretty solid, but I want to figure out a good thing for traveling. As rough as they are on the boats, I wouldn't want to mount anything hanging outside the boat anywhere...
