Just as it is with the people who want to live totally green, recycling everything, electric cars, etc, to save the earth, of course is commendable, but with the human population @ 7 billion, and climbing, the Earth, and every living thing on it, is pretty much screwed either way.

All these kinds of efforts are just pis&ing in the wind.

Just wait for the news flash the the Curiosity Rover found gold, diamonds, or other precious metals on Mars, then it'll be like the 49'ers gold rush all over again and they won't need to build a death star to expatriate.

In fact, depending on how this "death star" would leave the planet "after" all human beings were gone, {if the Earth could recover} it might in fact, be a "life star"........

Just for the record, I have nothing but love and respect for all of the self thinking individuals on this planet. It's the human species in general, that is the most despicable, devastating species to ever walk the Earth.
