Does anybody else like to fish spinnerbaits and/or buzzbaits in the spring? Also I was wondering which colors seem more effective.

Yes, start with a basic chart./white in 3/8 ounce spinnerbait with tandem blades(colorado and willow). Booyah makes good spinnerbaits called the "Booyah blade" you can get them somewhere around $6. Make sure you have a fairly good rod and reel for them too, like a 7:1:1 reel on a 7' MH rod would be really good. Alot of people burn them over underwater structure and grass. You cant predict how fish want to bite, so just try different speed retrieves to let them tell you how they want it. Now buzzbaits are really good in the spring you should use the same setup and use basic colors like white and a black one. Black is really good at night too. Throw it out there and just keep it barely ontop the water. Booyah also makes decent.buzzbaits called the booyah buzz, i ALWAYS fish my buzzbaits with a trailer and my hook up ratio is way better. So basically these are really good techniques for spring or year round with a spinnerbait here in Louisiana. Pick you up a couple of each and learn em!

If you only fish spinnerbaits in the spring you're missing out.  I used them throughout the summer and fall with great success.  Chartreuse, white/chart, white for most water, but if it is really stained them go with a black or black/blue combo.  

A 1/4 or 3/8oz solid white spinnerbait with a single colorado blade is one of my favorite big fish baits in the spring. A buzzbait comes into play just a little bit later but a 3/8oz black on black Cavitron is a staple for me from spring through fall. 

Although I use other presentations, a single Colorado (Indiana once the fish are in pre-spawn) 3/8oz spinnerbait has produced more fish for me than any other in the spring.  I'm not married to any particular brand and I modify most of my spring and cold water spinners by shortening the arm so the rear of the blade doesn't extend past the hook's point. This allows the bait to helicoopter as it falls and the colder the water, the more I use a lift and drop retrieve.  I'll even add a curly tailed grub as a trailer to slow the fall rate until the water temp stays above 50 degrees.

I fish spinnerbaits and buzzbaits all through the summer and into the fall I just start using them in early spring.

yep, i've done well on lots of colors on spinnerbaits, yellow, blue and white, but i love the black with red flakes, i throw buzzbaits here and there but i like the ribbit frogs better honestly
