bluegill swimbaits

Featured Replies

I just finished reading a article in Aprils issue of FLW Bass Edition about throwing bluegill baits to bass on the nests.  I was wondering if anyone made a good quality hard bodied swimbait that was cheap-er.  I know that I am most likely asking for too much, but would like to have something in the $10 range.  I am planning on buying some soft bluegill swimbaits too, any suggestions on either hard or soft baits?

I believe Academy makes a hard bluegill swimbait.  It's part of their H2O lineup.  It should be under $10

They do, I have a couple of the bluegill, and talapia 4" swimbaits..Being they have bottom trebeles..I wouldn't toss them where they can get snagged..I've lost 2 already..I also wouldn't use the term Bed bait either, but you could try em, as they are cheap enough.

I would take a look at the Matt lures ultimate bluegill soft bodied swimbaits, it is a very good swimbait for this, its not "cheap" but for what you get its pretty affordable

x2. the matt gill is probably one of the most realistic soft plastic bluegill imitations you will find. well worth the 20$!

Just got  a softgill and hardgill from TW. Haven't used them yet. Amazing how much they look like the real thing.

Here's kind of a boring video but you an get an idea of how realistic the bait is.
