I heard that pink ... I mean Bubble Gum ... flukes are good for Smallmouth.  Same with trick worms.  I have never had luck with either of them.  Anyone else have luck with them?

Early 90's - Pink was a huge color in the BPS catalog.  Bubble gum spinnerbaits, bubble gum cranks, worms etc.  Not so much these days.  I have heard that in the Ozark Lakes that it is a good color for early post spawn action, in a trick worm or a fluke type bait fished relatively shallow. 

 

Wouldn't know, I haven't gotten to any Ozark Lakes during that time of year for a few years now.

Ive always used it as a bed fishing color. I have some pink tubes that have decimated some bedding fish. I like a pink trick worm too!

Yes. Both......largemouth (and pike) don't mind them either.

i got a pack of bubblegum(pink and white) floating worms from Haw River Tackle i received for christmas one year. i fished them weightless and killed some pond fish with them. just give them a jerk and they move like a snake in the water and then stop and float there and theyd get crushed...

Pink works. Period. If you refuse to throw it for fear of what the other fisherman might say, then you are letting peer pressure make you a less effective fisherman. And possible not secure in your masculinity..

 

Some will say its only benefits are for sight fishing... Others will say that it triggers some sort of predation response because it resembles an abino minnow.  Who knows? 

 

I do know that on some days pink sluggos will catch bass like nothing else. The Ribbit frogs that work best for me have a pinkish opalescent belly.  My buddy has an old pink Lucky Craft rattle bait that looks 'silly' as heck, but produces as well. And my daughter is partial to pink lures. Bandit makes a few patterns in pinks and purples that she uses, and they work too (when not stuck in her clothing, a tree or my skin...).

 

The color tequila sunrise incorporates pink, and it is another personal favorite.

I can't wait try these colors got them from bps pink crawdad shape. I think it would be fun to cattch in front of others. I also bought pink trick worms to try.

Fished a tournament where I was the only one catching them, after a few fish my partner finally manned up and asked me for some.  Get to weight in and everyone think we tied them on to disguise what we were really catching them on.  So shhhhh don't tell anyone

I fish the BPS floating worm in pink on a 1/0 hook and it works the same way. Twitch twitch twitch it through grass or anything else and BAM. It's hookup is about as good as a fluke. it also skips like a champ on spinning tackle. You can skip it under 4 inches of clearance while wading.

Awesome topwater lure in our local creeks/streams for spotted bass.

LOL ... This made me laugh.  I have a 5 year old that loves my pink lures and plays with them.  She even took a trick worm to school to show her friends.  Mom wasn't to happy.  

One of my favorite stick bait colors has pink in it, drop shot, ned rig, wacky  the smallies just love it

Only pink I have used was on a crappie bait. I did find a pink Senko knock off last fall.... May try this year during the spawn.

I've caught many largies on pink flukes. Some really nice ones too. Pink is actually one of my favorite colors when tossin flukes

Get some Strike king floating worms in pink and fish it on a drop shot! HANG ON! Oh, by the way don't tell anyone in Wisconsin!

Had a buddy who was fishing with me at a pond, and he used a berkley floating worm (color pink). He put a little weight on it and he was out fishing me that day. He caught 8 bass and I caught none lol.

Bubblegum works and it has worked since I was a kid.

 

When I was about 10 I got a bubblegum colored Mann's crankbait. My grandpa thought it was funny and liked

to tease me about it until I started catching Bass on it.

 

Wasn't so funny after that.  lol

 

Now I have tons of Bubblegum Senkos, grubs and trick worms.

One of my favorite fishing buddies died back in 2011. He was a fishing guide for crappie, striper, and multiple saltwater species. He was a big time believer in pink. He would use these little pink crankbaits for crappie, pink buck tails some times for stripers , and ive seen pink buck tail hair on his flounder rigs just above the live bait.

Ive seen those little pink cranks pull in some big time slab crappies and white perch.

Pink works great. Action and profile are of greater importance IMO than color though.

Does pink work better in clear or dirty water in yall's opinion?

I find myself using bubblegum colored Senkos & Sluggos a lot in the spring time. Off & on during the remainder of the year. Especially effective in stained to muddy water.

Steelhead like the pink worms too.
