On The Water Snacks?

Dude, are you diabetic? I am. It sucks but good diet and excercise normally keeps it in check.

I'm Type 1, and insulin dependent.  Good diet and exercise certainly helps, but isn't enough, since my pancreas doesn't produce insulin anymore.

  • I usually pack water, couple cans of soda, some fruit and homemade snack sticks or Jerky. I like to have food that is quick to eat so i can get back to fishing ASAP.

beef jerky, little container of cottage cheese with fruit or a small container of Yogurt, gatorade, water, and a few IPAs or Sam Adams Summer ales.

Be careful with that blood sugar nonsense. I had a buddy who was diagnosed pre teen. He neglected it, skinny guy, eventually lost his sight and it eventually killed him at 23

BIG pasta dinner the night before so I have energy to paddle.  In the cooler the day of I'll make a sammich or grab some subway, a king size snickers, a big gatorade, a big mountain dew, a sixer of good craft beer and a pack of marlboro lights.  I might try try the hot dogs in the thermos trick this year though... Except maybe I'll try some brats... d**n, now i'm hungry...

Sub, water, ice

I always eat first. Don't know why. Perhaps to get it out of the way. Always a sub... turk, mayo, lettuce, tomato, prov, onion, oil. don't like to drink a lot of anything. ...for obvious reasons.

Eating makes me a better fishergirl:fishing1:

Sunflower seeds, pbj, Gatorade, water, crackers,.....

I keep it simple.

A few g2 gatorades, few water bottles, some peanut butter and crackers or protein bar, and a couple of PBJ or ham sandwiches for the ride home. Rarely eat while fishing except maybe snack on some peanut butter and crackers. As soon as the boat is loaded I go for my sandwich.
