A while back I asked for some information about fishing in Florida while were there on vacation. A member posted an invitation to show me around. This past Saturday he took me out and we fished one of his spots. It was thoroughly enjoyable. We caught bass and even encountered a couple unexpected alligators. The gist of this is: what a great site this for information and networking. I've chatted with a lot of good folks here. Thanks BR and .......especially, thanks to you Mike for being a gracious host.

As a result of participation on BR I have met a group of anglers in my area and developed friendships with two very fine anglers (Fishing Rhino & Grampa).   In regards to "TopWaterSpook's" comment that .....  "The gist of this is: what a great site this for information and networking."      Last week I heard a speaker talk about the "Wisdom of Crowds" and I think that concept is spot on with what we have here.  The speaker was New Yorker columnist James Surowiecki who explores a deceptively simple idea: Large groups of people are smarter than an elite few, no matter how brilliant–better at solving problems, fostering innovation, coming to wise decisions, even predicting the future.    This forum is a perfect example of Surowiecki's concept.

Not a single photo. I fumbled for my camera trying to get a shot of the gators. Once again........a day late and a dollar short..........

I've only fished with 1 BR member, Bassn, haven't seen him in while hope everything is ok.  Had a great time with him on a few occasions, we fished in saltwater, he caught a great fish and I got skunked.

Very cool! I've had the opportunity to fish with several members here in MD and PA and have made some good friends doing so. It's one of many reasons why I've been here for so long!
