Picked up some 1/2oz scrounger heads tonight, along with a couple packs of subwoofers to stick on them. What's the best bait to put on these suckers? I'm ready to see what all the hype is about with these things.

I like Rage Craws on 'em.

We've had sucess on them,  way down south, with 7 inch Bass Pro Shop Stick-o s. We'd throw them against bluff walls and allow them to sink as we counted then slowly retrieve them back. 

I prefer Fluke style baits on mine.  The possibilities are limited only by your imagination though.  They can be very productive baits.

I like a curly tail grub on them. I am gonna try the rage craw on them though.

Flukes are about all I ever use with'em. Caught plenty of bass though, fun little heads.

Anything with a paddle tail.  A 5 inch hollow body swimbait is my first choice.  A swimming fluke or the Havoc Grass Pig or similar baits also match up well.  Under the right conditions it's a deadly set up.

I haven't used them often, but when I did, my buddy had me set up with some Fat Albert grubs and we were catching 'em

I have to disagree with the guys that put boot tail style baits on the scrounger. I feel that it almost negates the action imparted by the scrounger itself. Super fluke. Disco green or disco violet.

I was thinking the exact same thing, I agree 100%.

I'm just starting to use the Magic Shads.  Only used them with a 1/16 swimbait hook and have done well with the 3 1/2 inch Bluegill size.

 

My question is what size Scrounger head and what size Magic Shad? (and your favorite color?)

On a 1/8 oz scrounger I like the Keitech swing impact FAT, 2.8 inch. On a quarter ounce, a reaction Innovations little dipper usually does the trick!

No one uses the subwoofer? Crap. I figured that would be a hot bait to use.

i use 1/8,1/4,3/8 and 1/2oz depending on what depth i'm fsihing

 

i like magic shad and barfish color (because of the chartruese)...and watermelon/red some
