snaps vs snap swivels vs rings ?

Featured Replies

I want to change baits fast because of size or color for hard baits.

What do you guys use for your hard baits?

I like snap swivels because I don't get line twist but I feel it lessens the action of the lure though. With the other two I am always afraid/hate the line twisting.

I just don't know which one I should use. Thanks.

Snaps and swivels, just never together.

I use duolocks only because I've gotten lazy, I can tie a loop knot nearly as fast.

I use the same size 3/4" for bass as well as snook, jack and tarpon.  I have seen no reduction in lure action loop vs duolock.

X3. Duo-locks are the best.

x4. Use snap swivels at your own risk. They can (and have on me) pop open and you could lose the lure.

However duos I do use when I get too lazy or when certain lures call for them.

Forget the snaps, learn how to tie a knot quicker. I can tie a palomar in less time it takes me to open and close a snap swivel.

Snap ---> cranks, hard swimbaits

Snap-swivel combo ---> in-line spinners

Direct tie ---> cranks, swimbaits, spinnerbaits, hooks.

Bass snaps for cranks. First thing I do to a new crank is take the o-ring off the line tie. :-?

Tie direct on spinnerbaits and jigs. ;D

Just my 2 cent!

Try a Duo-lock snap

I've used the Berkley Cross Locs too, I use the 30lb version but they seem really small, but haven't had a problem with them either
