Does anybody fish flukes and trickworms on braid or fluoro? I know everybody around here good crazy when i tell them i fish flukes on 15lb fluoro and 40lb power pro

You certainly can fish them on that line combo. I fish my flukes on 30lb braid and 8lb-12lb fluoro. Some times ill fish weightless trick worms on the same set up, but i really like the weightless trick worm better on a spinning reel/rod with 10lb braid or 6-10lb fluoro (basically for castability)

Id like to fish them a little lighter than you combo, but i works for me. If you dont have alot of casting issues then go with it.

I fish flukes and trickworms on fluoro. I throw trick worms on shakey heads a lot though /w a braid/fluoro combo the same as Teal's.

I fish both almost exclusively on fluoro but I'll fish flukes on braid with a fluoro leader in weeds or when skipping docks. 

I throw flukes tied directly onto the braid through pads when I'm fishing them topwater..weightless on 12-15lb fluoro..i also usually fish the trick worms with a 1/8oz bullet on 10lb mono or weightless on 12lb fluoro, but i also have caught most of my big fish (6lbs+) flipping solid black trick worms on 50-65lb braid in heavy cover with. a 1/2oz tungsten. What shakey heads do you guys use?

For Skakey heads i use the Spot Remover.

 

I throw flukes on a mh/f spinning rig with 20# braid and a 10# floro leader.

Shakey heads allways with 15# floro, but thinking of downsizing to 10 or 12.

how do you guys fish a weightless trickworm? i love fishing the fluke, and i have a few packs of trickworms and have tried to fish them weightless but not sure if im doin it right. do i use just a standard weightless texas rig and a slow twitch method?

You can fish them like a fluke at times, swimming them over grass with twitches and you will get bit. The most effective way I've fished them though is much like I would a senko. They usually hit it on the slow fall or shortly thereafter.

I fish trick worms on flouro because its better for visibility. I have had more strikes with trick worms on flouro around docks and cover than when using basic mono or copolymer. I will however use 8 lb test in copolymer and then add a leader of 6 or 8 lb test flouro for my worms and plastics. I have not had alot of success with flukes yet because I don't use them much at all.

15 lb fluoro is great for fluke fishing weightless. Although I would switch to a spinning rod to fish a weightless or shakey head rigged trick worm.

I recently made the transition from mono to floro/braid and I snap em off ALOT! I have since went to just 10/2 braid. Anyone ense have this problem??

I've used both mono and braid while fishing flukes. If I use them as a jerk bait (jerk, jerk pause) then I much prefer mono over braid. I felt like the flukes had too much action when jerked with braid because of the no stretch factor. Perhaps the braid, since it tends to float, also effected the slow sink that the bass hits on so many times. Either way, i got way more bites using mono, and this isn't a clear lake. Never tried flouro though..
