Music While Fishing

I  prefer the solitude and peacefulness of fishing which Is why I never play music, keep the phone on vibrate, and during the warmer months I go only at night when the pleasure boaters, jet ski's, and the party folks are at a minimum.

  • I am very fortunate to be able to fish places that provide an abundance of "Natural Music", day and night.     Anything else, would just be noise.   A-Jay

I do the same thing when I'm out fishing by myself. Although my music is a little more intense than George Straight. Try walking the dog to some Godsmack lol!

  • LOL, we were thinking the same thing, A-Jay.

I go fishin to enjoy what our good Lord has created and to listen to the various sounds and like when I fished Lake Powell the absolute silence.

To each their own and tight lines

I sometimes listen to music while fishing. I would like to put some speakers in the boat. I like to use my phone to listen to Pandora whenbi am out on the water.

I play music on my iphone while i fish

First thing in the morning no music for me... I just enjoy being there.

Later on in the day after the 1000th cast sometimes I'll throw on some skynyrd, allman bros, alan jackson, eric church, george strait or some sheepdogs for my mid day pick up!

Yep, I listen to tunes now and then or a ball game but through a head set if I do it but I usually don't as I'm replaying a lot of my recent days/weeks in my head and sorting myself out which is part of what I love fishing; time to decompress and slow my mind down.

I prefer to be quiet when on the water as I fish really clear water and heavily pressured lakes so stealth matters (at least to me) but sound doesn't distract me when I'm fishing so I can enjoy some tunes now and then.   If I do, it's usually fishing for a reaction bite like cranking, spinner bait fishing, topwater, etc as when I'm fishing the bottom I close my eyes quite often to focus more on my "feel" and keep in tune with what my bait is doing.

Motley Crue - "Kickstart my Heart" first thing in the morning!!  I would say I listen to music 50% of the time while fishing alone!!

I love music, maybe almost as much as bass fishing. I never listen to music while I bass fish though.

Only if i'm catfishing, bass fishing i can't or i will lose focus and miss strikes. but after a long day of not catching anything, the trip home requires some old school Metallica blasting from my 1500w system.

Music? When fishing? That's possible? Hahaha!!!

My answer to this question is "rarely"... I have a decent radio setup in the boat, and an auxiliary jack so I can plug in my phone to the radio (Spotify).

I do, however, smoke cigars when I fish. So does my fishing partner...

:coffee2:

I was just thinking about the effects music being played has on fishing lately. Will it spook them and get them excited?? I'm in the process of installing a mp3/ radio system in my boat.  I was thinking if the Hydrowave gives off sounds that are suppose to fire up the fish into biting, then why wouldn't other sounds possibly do the same thing, right?  I can't wait to get this thing installed on go jam out while fishing and go to test my theory. Hopefully they like techno! lmao :respect-059:  :eyebrows:
