  1. Just went to order the 7.6:1 LH...sold out..ugh!! and I was on earlier and didn't pull the trigger!!
  2. Getting a bonus check Monday that will likely go to 2 new crucials and the new curado!
  3. 7'2 MH and 7'8 XH for flipping Although I should in certain situations I tend not to throw lighter jigs.
  4. Gotta try one for sure!! And also excited for Chronarch's to go on sale when these drop!!
  5. My 04 V6 does just fine pulling my buddies bass boats up to 20'.
  6. I'm pretty sure I already do...A rainbow should shoot out every time you cast!!
  7. I just picked up my Calcutta 301D yesterday...it was a great feeling!!
  8. I have the Denali Kovert 7'8 as well and its a nice flipping rod at that price point! Its paired with a Revo SX and 65lb Power Pro! Works well for me.
  9. I plan on purchasing one similar soon. Congrats!
  10. This will be the first year I really focus on cold water techniques but what I plan on having rigged up: 1.Jig 2.Swimbaits - top hooks that can be crawled on bottom 3.Dropshot 4. Suspending Jerkbait
  11. I love my Shimano Crucial 7'11" H but that's for bigger baits like hudds, soft tools, etc. Think its rated from 5-8 oz which I mainly thrown around 4-5 oz baits but I like the heavier rods too!
  12. Sorry RW, needs to be lefty and there's something about buying a brand new reel makes a guy feel good!!
  13. Thanks A-Jay, I guess that confirms my choice! Although it is a good chunk of change; it should be worth it in the long run! Durability and functionality.
  14. Thanks for all the input guys!! I don't know why it has to be such a tough decision!! I am waiting for a friend who recently purchased the Calcutta D to give me some feedback before I choose. I personally don't like the feel of throwing big baits on smaller low profile reels compared to the round reels. I'm leaning towards the Calcutta D at the moment.
  15. I picked up a Shimano Crucial 7'11 H Swimbait rod on sale at Sportsman's Warehouse a while back. And I wasn't necessarily trying to gain casting distance but like you said more smooth and durable components!!
  16. Thanks for the info guys. I'm not saying the Cardiff isn't performing well by any means, I'll try that J Francho. I just figured if I'm going to start buying 50+ dollar swimbaits and make this technique a focal point going forward, that I should up my gear!! Does anyone else have the opinion that the gains from the reels aren't worth the money?
  17. I'm looking to upgrade my Shimano Cardiff 301A for throwing some higher end, bigger swimbaits this coming year. What are some of the reels I should really consider dropping coin on? -Shimano Calcutta B -Shimano Calcutta D -Shimano Curado 300 -Daiwa Lexa 300 -Daiwa Luna If there are any others I missed that would be worth it please let me know! It needs to be available in lefty and I'm considering any price at this point!!
  18. Palomar all the way...like others said...must be very wet!
  19. I rock my 7'6 MH Abu Garcia Villain/Abu Garcia Revo SX with Power Pro Super 8 Slick braid #65!!
  20. Another vote for the Rage Chunk or Craw depending on how big of a profile you want the bait to have!
  21. Plenty of Lampreys on the west coast in the Columbia River and its tributaries.
  22. As they said..Smallie! I would put that fish at 2lbs 12 ounces
  23. I guess Ive never really experimented with others but the Strike King Pure Poison has worked just fine for me!
  24. Motley Crue - "Kickstart my Heart" first thing in the morning!! I would say I listen to music 50% of the time while fishing alone!!
