  1. Thanks for the info guys, I think that duct seal well method will work best for me, and I'll certainly use an aquarium thermometer initially.
  2. Thats exactly what I worry about with the scupper mount is breaking it off. I think I will likely go with the in-hull style and duct seal. As long as its setup correctly the only downfall is water temp reading for the first hour or so from what I hear.
  3. Thanks, that looks like a pretty slick setup. I dont like the idea of a swingarm on the side, might have to try something like that.
  4. I just purchased a new Jackson Cuda 12 and was curious if anyone has used the Lowrance Scupper Mount Transducer? I have been looking at the Elite-4x DSI as the finder I want to purchase and was debating on going with the scupper mount vs the in-hull style. I know the basic pros and cons of each but was curious. Thanks!
  5. I just picked up an Abu Garcia Villain 7'1 MH at sportsmans warehouse for $120, I know its a little high but for that rod its a great price!! The Mojo rods are good, as well as the Veritas from Abu for that price...and I agree with keeper, something around 6'6 or 7' MH will be a good start for multiple techniques!
  6. Tried a new spot today with a new bait....finally got some rage tail baits, caught this, the only fish of the day (5lber 20") on an 10"anaconda!!!

  13. Pic of my buddy, a fishing guide out of Astoria OR at the mouth of the Columbia, caught this 11ft sturgeon, sorry no better pic available...this beast must have weighed a couple hundred!
  14. Hey Loon, Welcome! Although I havent fished it in 5 years from a boat, Hagg lake is good, but I dont know how accessable it is from the bank!
  15. Nice fish man!!! but i thought goose died and i would have never guessed he would bass fish!
  16. I guess the trout could have been a sturgeon? ;D I think it was more like 15"! Also, that is not a creek, its a little inlet on a lake. Yes it is a bucs hat, love the bucs!
  17. Went out today for only the second time this year. Water was still very cold and was really just trying to get out of the house. Caught this one (about 4lbs) and a 15' trout (no pic). Hopefully there will be plenty more this size later on. We don't see any DD here in southern oregon!
  18. Well I wish I had a bunch of info for you, but ive only been twice, both times to the northern of the two lakes. The fishing is great though, was there during the later summer months with some buddies, it turned into more of a drinking vacation than fishing though. They hold quite a few tournaments there from what I hear and 3-5 pounders are common. Good luck!
  19. Are you referring to tenmile lake on the oregon coast?
  20. Another one from Southern Oregon here, originally from Astoria OR.
  21. What a beast!!! Love the coloring of this pic too!!! Keep it up!!
  22. I just received some Ultra Soft #8 for my spinning tackle recently and have fallen in love already!
  23. another for buzzbaits!
  24. I was wondering what is the best way to spool line onto a spinning reel without any type of spooling kit? I find my line is always getting tangled and I didnt know if it has to do with my spooling. I know the correct amount of line to apply but I was just wondering if there was a technique that could help. Thanks
  25. I voted occasionally...I have caught many fish throwing buzzbaits at all times of the day and here in Oregon I fish many small ponds and sloughs that don't have the same patterns as some of the big lakes!!!
