Chompers Twin Tail Grubs

Featured Replies

I am wondering if anyone uses these soft baits. If so, how do you like them? Also, what hooking style do find most productive? (T-rig, C-rig, Jighead etc) Thanks for your help.

They were a little stiff last time I tried them. Football jig trailer is my use, or should I say that's the last time I tried them

Works great texas rigged with a pegged weight.  Shakey head works well too!

I have been meaning to try them on a split shot rig or mojo rig.

I have caught a ton of bass on the Chompers twin tail grub.I fish them on football heads,T-rig,and I will fish them on the Jika rig this year.I also fish them on a Mustad weighted hook! Great bait!

Living in Missouri, I like to support the local companies, so I use chompers baits quite a bit.

I like the t-rig the twin tail grubs. Also use them as a swim jig trailer from time to time.

I got away from them for awhile and recently started fishing them a lot again. Can't really fish them wrong, football head, shakyhead, T-rig, standup head, and C-rig are my favorite ways to fish them. A few lakes I fish they're much more productive than a regular jig for some reason.

Agree with Fadetoblack about supporting local/regional companies.  Chompers makes a quality product, not just their twin tail grub, they make a hula style grub, a senko imitation, tubes. lizards, etc.  Plus if you ever need your sinus cleaned out, open up a fresh bag of Chompers, a strong, intense garlic aroma, not as rank as Powerbait.  Should you leave a freshly opened bag of Chompers unsealed in your fishing truck and park it for a week or so, your truck will smell like an Italian kitchen for a while.

It doesn't really smell "bad" per se, just an intense aroma.  They don't skimp on their scent additives.

Thanks for the help. What size hook do you use for the 5 in. when fishing a T-rig? Thanks again.

4/0 EWG with a 1/4oz weight gets it done for me.

I like a weighted hook in a 2/0 or a 3/0.

I use them as jig trailers. A little more finesse setup than a rage craw, but still enough action to entice some fish
