These little buggers should do the job. 3/4 oz, and that tail!

What job would that be? ;)

Those are nice!! Who make them?

If the plural of mouse is mice, is the plural of spouse spice?

Looks like the MLT Rat. Let us know how these work, I haven't heard many reviews on them. I really like the price as well for a bait like this.

All I notice is the paper you have them sitting on that says 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost.  ;)

Can I hang out with you Robert? Like be a one man entourage for you. LOL I don't live far you either.

I don't understand the point of a blade on a swivel underneath the bait. Frogs and rats like that are supposed to be fished over crap. Doesn't the crap jam up the swivel and render the blade useless? At the very least it must make it more difficult for the bait to come across the top of the mat...Or are those types of baits just not meant for mats?

Dan,

The blades are supposed to look like feet from what I'v read.  kicking for dear life as the mouse slips over the slop.  ;D

But how can the blade spin if it's sitting on top of slop?

Let me know how that swivel handles any accumulated gunk. I fish spinnerbaits in moderate grass and the swivels that attach the blades get clogged up and stop spinning, I just can't imagine how they would handle the thick stuff.

The spinners do not spin unless they have open water, so they kinda glide over the junk. Your spinner bait is in the vertical and the rats are in the horizontal. I hope you can get the picture.

You're right, the swivel will collect gunk. Try putting a small willow leaf blade(#2, cupped-side up) to two connected split rings and hooking it up underneath the frog near the hole where the two hooks meet, so it can't slide off. If you use one split ring, the blade will hang vertically, with two, it will be horizontal and will snake thru the slop a little better. I put these on white frogs to add a little flash.

There are somes frogs that are manufactured with blades on the back. I can't recall the names. This is a decent little DIY mod.

For what I read you guys never fish a topwater frog ( or mouse in this case ) in open water, you should try it.

That wouldn't be as productive in most places that I fish a frog.

Ive looked at them several times and pass each time. The optimum baits frog that this takes the idea from is a waste of $10. Emergent milfoil wraps around the blade and the action just wasnt right.
