Fished Sayers Again - 5-29

Featured Replies

Got to the ramp and started prepping the boat. As I was doing so a guy close to my age came over and started talking about fishing. Then, something happened thats never happened before. He politely asked if anyone was joining me and if not would I be interested in having a rider!

I told him to throw his stuff in the boat. We fished most of the evening and I made a new friend thats local. He actually outished me, while I was playing with different setups he threw a tube all night. He landed 4, lost one and I only had 2 all night, it was ok with me cause he was extremely pumped to be out on a bass boat.

Water temp: 70

Bass Stage: Seems to me they are post spawn and starting to move back out but some are still on beds, I couldnt see any visible beds though

Weather: Warm(85), SW wind was blowing pretty good until dusk

Baits: Tubes, Cranks, Spinnerbaits

Locations: Rip Rap, Points, Spawning Flats in the Poles

I tried a little topwater too throwing a cavitron and a sammy with no takers.

Awesome you are braver then I, not sure I would have done that but its awesome it worked out well for you.  So far out of the few lakes I fished Sayers is my fav..

Im a pretty good judge of character, he didnt seem like a dirtball so I figured worst case scenerio id drop him back off. We had a good time though, he sent me a facebook friend request this morning and had a ton of pics from being out on the boat, he must have really enjoyed himself so Im glad he was brave enough to ask. He just lucked out that I am pretty easy going.

Glad it worked out for you. Might be a new fishing buddy on a regular basis.
