Ok so I have been using Buzzbait's for a while now, but when and where exactly should I throw them? Low light conditions, etc?

Tight to cover, over the grass, and for some reason right up against the bank. Early, late, and mid day if there is cloud cover. Fish it as slowly as possible, changing speeds and fish a trailer hook.

spot on, i have had the best luck when the water is choppy around shallow structure

ive had better luck fishing buzz baits underwater like a spinnerbait than on top

All of the above conditions. I like to fish them as low as possible come to a like bass holding spot and kill the retieve, let it drop below the water and the get back to the surface as fast as possible and then repeat. The stop & go will trigger some strikes as well.

Slow as possible, close or right over cover and throw it occasionally all day long, under any conditions.

I have fished them for years. Cant think of a time when not to fish one. One is tied on a rod at all times i like the 1/4 oz the best.  If there hitting short of course use a trailor hook.  I use power pro  #30  on all my spinners, top water ,buzzbaits

Fish them as slowly as possible while still allowing them to crawl over the surface. Like most any topwater they are best during low light conditions and cloudy days. Sometimes I do catch bass on them during the middle of the day if bass are holding in long expanses of shallow water with weeds or other cover.

They are at their best when fished close to or through cover.

I usually throw it at dawn and dusk but it can produce strikes all day long.

The secret to throwing a buzzbait is to "balance" the bait with your rod and reel so that when the bait hits the water the spool stops and you can start your retrieve either right before or at the same time the bait hits the surface.

I agree with everyone that you should fish them as slowly as possible.  I use Cavitrons and they are the slowest buzzbait and don't really need you to focus on how slow you reel them in.  I'd highly recommend trying them out.

Seeing this topic recently made me get my dusty buzzbait out.  Boy am I glad I did.  Throw it everywhere, and all the time.  I've been slaying the bass on my black buzzbait.

In the heat of the night

Nothing gets your heart thumping like a buzzbait strike 4 feet off the bow at night. You can't see it coming and the explosion right at the boat is great.

I have found using a high gear ratio reel that is smooth is key. IMO a steady retrieve is most effective, paralleling the shore is also a good tip
