Favorite Frog?

Featured Replies

Just wondering what everyone's favorite frog and color of that frog is soft or hollow body or hard what ever you guys like most when it comes to frog fishing

Black or dark colored spro poppers are my favorite. I feel I get a better hook up ratio using hollow body over soft bodied frogs.

I like the Live Target frog right now but plan to pick up a few Spro ones soon.

Have several Spro's and really like them but I'll say the new Strike King KVD frog is pretty awesome.  Good hooks, deep keel so it 'walks the dog' easier than any other I've used and is durable.   It's in the rotation big time now along with the Spro models.

Colors are nice too.  I'm a fan of the black and the green pumpkin colors specifically for my water.

I've used the Spro, Phat and KVD's in all conditions and an assortment of colors.

But it seems like I allways come back to the Scum Frog. The most productive all around color is either the green with black flake or red.

I use the Jackall Iobee frog, walks like a dream, durable material, good hooks, and you don't have to do any modification to the bait to get good hookup ratio or to make it walk correctly.   I like the bluegill  color pattern.

Koppers Live target. Whichever color I can find on sale as long it has a light colored belly.

Hollow bellied: Booyah Padcrasher Leopard Frog

Solid: Stanley Ribbit Watermelon Red Pearl

Favorite hollow body is the Spro Bronzeye Jr in the Outback color. Regular size Bronzeye in Killer Gill is a close second though. My favorite toad bait is the Gambler Cane Toad in Bullfrog color.

The frog I most use is Spro Popping, also  really like the Live Target.

Spro popper in white is my current go to

I had a great time fishing ish monroe's phat frog in black last summer.

Live Target is a great frog to.

But between these two I'll buy whatever one is on sale haha.

Stanley makes a soft rubber frog that is cheap and works great.

cant pick on one, well maybe koppers and spro all the way, but iobee gill is a beast, IMO, but color seems least factor to me, if i skipping frogs far back , sometimes i use the halloween orange spro just so i can see it, still works just aswell as green. BUT this one pond I go to, only a yellow padcrasher will work.  I used to think color of frogs was all bs, but idk anymore. I feel smack dab on the middle of the fence

Snag Proof phat frog and poppin phattie frog. My favorite colors are da man and papa midnight.

H2O XPRESS™ 5-1/2" Hollow-Body

natural green

I use a booyah pad crasher in the black and red kuro color. Before I found that i used spro and strike king sexy frog. I love the pad crasher because it's soft and walks really well and I've never had an issue with fish not committing to the red and black color. I've caught them in the thickest weeds and in wide open gin clear water on it so now it's the only frog I pick up. I have guys tell me that I'm missing out on fish by not using a more natural color but I fish a lake that is crystal clear and if I spot a bass I can throw the black and red frog out a few feet ahead of it and they'll instantly blow up on it every time.

I use the black Spro popping frog more than any other topwater. I own about every color made but except for freshening the hook I have had the exact same popping frog tied to my line for at least 9 months.
