Early Summer Lures

Featured Replies

Early summer for me means i can give my plastics a rest and breakout reaction and topwater lures. what are your fav. lure choices this time of year?

My go-to right now has been a Pop-X in Threadfin Shad.  It has been killing them, even in high-sun clear daytime.  Fishing this in 20'+ of gin clear water will bring up big bass.  And it isn't nearly as boring as dragging a Carolina rig :)

I've been doing well with lipless cranks and jigs so far. Not a thing on plastics yet or topwater.

I like to use a Rebel Pop-R or a yello spro frog. Sometimes the bites are few and far between, but the fish are high quality.

Two lures I'll never put down! A Texas Rig & a Jig-N-Craw ;)

Popper, Spook , Flukes, Swimbaits, Fish head spins

Frogs, toads and more frogs.

Jig with craw trailer and shaky head!

Frogs, toads and more frogs.

Fun, fun and more fun.

Well since im stuck over here for another year in Guam i havent been able to bass fish but once a year for the past 3 yrs. But i can say that my buddy has been slaying them on jigs. Hes fishing deep grass off of points and humps been in the top 5 every tourney so far this year.
