I bought a cheap soldering iron and it works great to repair torn senkos. Just gently touch the two sides of the tear and put it back together. With a little practice it is very easy.

BPS sells yamamoto senkos for 8 bucks a bag - is that a joke or what. Tackle warehouse sells them for 6. Price is getting out of hand, but I love to use them. Fix em up yourself, throw on a little scent - save a ton of money.

Unicorn blood

Unicorn blood is hard to find - I don't think BPS carries it.

Seriously I've been using a lighter to repair plastics on the fly in my boat for years.  It will typically get you a couple more fish.  Never tried the soldering iron though - that's redneck engineering at it's finest!

PS: Everytime I use senkos while fighting a fish, they toss it off the hook. Thats why I use the Gander and BPS ones.

they all do that i dont care if its a bps or gary yamamoto even the strike king zeros do that and to me they hold up the best hands down they are the toughest senkos i have ever used

Dick's Sporting Goods had yamamoto senkos on sale for $3 a bag a couple months ago. They have them on sale once in a while, so stock up when that happens!

Mend-it is around $10.00 and will fix a ton of baits, plus they look like new when done.

Not sure how much a soldering iron costs but I do know you probably cannot use it on the water for immediate repairs.
